Questions for the Weightlifters

Drop sets until failure after your last heavy set, have fun walking.

Is there much science to grouping certain muscles together?

Examined my routine and switched up some types of lifts and while I'm at it if separating by push and pull days is what I should be doing (already on two upper body days).

Yes there is science to it but the reality is your probably not working hard enough to have adverse affects by working too closely related groups. Especially if your doing compound lifts not iso.

Push/pull/legs is a common break out and works good for a lot of people. I prefer the squat every workout routine though. YYMV.

Can anyone explain how this contraption is more than a gimmick?

You hang weights from the barbell and they fall off as you lower it to lighten the bar for the concentric lift. The claimed benefit is "greater explosiveness on the concentric lift".

But you exerted more effort than you had to lowering a heavier bar, so how are you gonna be stronger on the concentric lift compared to just lowering the lighter bar to begin with?

:homer: just looking without reading I thought that it was a great idea if you were lifting solo. You could set the arms up to drop the weight if you got in trouble.

I don't remember well enough to explain it, but it works. :flipoff2:

You should research it and report back. :flipoff2:

I can see with eccentric training, you'd be able to rack the lighter bar instead of having to lower it on the safeties.

Don't see how it would let you lift more in the first concentric rep though, compared to just lowering that weight to begin with.

There has to be some psychological component to lowering a heavier bar and knowing it's about to get lighter on the way up. Perhaps that alone is influencing physical strength.

I am curious myself, but not for $200.

I could see a couple of good uses.

If you tend to lose you brace in the bottom it would help maintain that

The primary part is probably mentally telling yourself that you have to push extra hard out of the hole and so your initial push is a lot harder/faster.

Lots of things you can buy if you are trying to be a competitive powerlifter chasing that last little bit.

When I started lifting, I had similar goals—just wanted to get stronger without packing on too much muscle. For a beginner, I'd recommend focusing on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and bench presses. These exercises really help build strength without necessarily bulking you up too much if you're not going heavy right away.

We'd love to see some pictures of your physique!

And we're really excited for gladiator ii, are you?

Thank you, you just changed my life

I did look into some options to boost performance, like the stuff you might find at places like Steroids Canada or a Canadian Steroids Shop. Personally, I wasn’t really interested in going that route since I was just starting out, but some people swear by it for getting that extra edge.
