Swap meet weekend, ended up dragging a lot more stuff back then sold...

Poor old cart was putting in work, lost two tires throughout the weekend. Second round of Sunday closeout deals pictured.

Hendley and Whittemore shear, with the handle on it's almost 7' tall.

More heavy shit that I really didn't need. Still haven't figured out how to operate the jack to go down yet, flipped all the levers, but something may be stuck? :homer:

Don't worry, didn't pay retail.

Well hello Mr Douglas, have I got the deal for you today. :flipoff2:

What it the dealio with the tapered shaft that looks like a hydraulic pump or motor?

Are you buying random stuff like a hoarder or do you have a purpose plan for any of it?
Yes... Plan on using most stuff, but some things like that PTO were part of package deals we were haggling on. Figured it was probably worth something. Will sort through the other random junk, keep what's useful, then take the rest back to sell next year.

Trust me, I have absolutely no room to talk  I have bought stuff at swap meets that I hoarded away. I’ve resold some of it this year at a swap meet too but it made no real dent in all the stuff I have

I’m
Just won an old Snap On taco cart. Been looking for a new box/work top for machine tooling. Had big ideas to restore it. :lmao:

other than the nasty black shitty paint job it looks ok. I see these type of snap on boxes for sale pretty often. But unless you can leave it out on the open shop floor, they’re useless. Can’t park them along a wall with other things on the sides of it.

I bought two of these twin blade packs for my dewalt planner yesterday for $20 each. They’re blowing them out of their store. That’s $10 a set of blades. Some day I’ll get the heli indexing head but it’s straight blades for now.

Now I 10,000% need to finish setting up my tool grinder.

Got this for "yet to be determined case of beer"

Very little is completely trashed, most is barely used, and some even appear to have never been used. I'll get the neighbor kid to sort through it and size it. A number of those inserts still have 3 of 4 good sides on them and many will fit the face mills I am cleaning up for the Cinci mill.

And also good thing I am actually pretty good with my drill doctor and sterling drill grinder.

I've posted before how I love these old index or microfiche cabinets. You can usually get them pretty cheap and the small drawers are great for tooling, hardware, and small parts storage. I usually grab them when I see them at the scrap yard or cheap enough on FB, which is usually in the $100 range or less.

These popped up at the local county's surplus auction on govdeals. It was listed as 12 of them (turned out to be 11), so i threw a max bid that came out to about $100 apiece after fees and taxes. I know I could flip the extras for $200+ and pay for the ones I'll end up keeping. Well, to my surprise, I got them for about $330 out the door. :smokin:

Went and picked them up this morning. The listing said 12, but it turned out to be only 11. The guy that was loading them for me was pissed because apparently his boss is the one that lists the descriptions and always messes them up. I didn't really care since I got them so cheap, but he made me go pick out a random regular cabinet from the floor, "You paid for 12, you're taking 12!" Wasn't much I wanted, but grabbed a regular 5 drawer letter sized one that looked like was in the best shape.

And since I had already won these, I bid on a lot of 3 ugly couches that ended up getting for $8. :lmao: The other two are trash, but that green one probably dates to the late 1800's and I can get $2-300 for it in my antique booth so what the hell. I'll throw the other two on FB for free and see if I can find a sucker to take them before my next dump run.

Found a good use for my baby shipping container. Got 7 in here, nice and snug. I need to do some shop rearranging and go through the cabinets I already have and figure out which ones I'm going to keep. The rest will get sold on FB and CL for a nice proffit.

All in all, a good haul and I should be an easy $1k on proffit after keeping the ones I want.

I'd love to find a few of those around here. Dont see much besides the normal filing cabinets

They're getting harder to find as they digitize any remaining microfilm and microfiche. The labels on one of these had something about the 1880 census in Virginia and another from SC so I'm assuming these probably came from the library.

Several years ago one of the counties an hour or so from here had a couple hundred in an auction in lots of like 20-25. I really wanted to bid on them but I was at my old house and had zero room to store that many. One buy bought a bunch and has been selling them on FB for like $4-500 for the past 5+ years. All the pictures he posts show them in a storage unit so he's probably been paying $150/mo to store them instead of selling them for $2-300 like most people do. :shaking:

Where are you located at? I could use another cabinet like those.

I bought a new unused Delta motor and stand. Don’t know what it was made for originally but it’s going to work out great for my bandsaw conversion project I have a thread on. I can’t use the motor on this project but it’ll work on something else down the road I’m sure.

Bounced a piece of welding slag off my eye this week, got really lucky it just left a cut and broken blood vessel but no vision issues. I was wearing my welding helmet down on grind mode and safety glasses wire wheeling when it happened, but also had on a respirator that pushed my glasses up a bit and wouldn't let my helmet push down as far as I normally wear it. I'd literally just told a safety guy last week this is why I don't like respirators even low profile ones. But that is a rant for another day. 2nd eye injury in the past few years so I bought some new gear.

My new setup Honeywell 760008AW, can take screw in low profile p100 filters, nice sized clear visor, flip down standard sized 2x4-1/4 attachment for whatever shade lens you want, nice headgear, full face seal, and a hood option I bought. Packs flatter than a standard helmet. Little heavy but I'll update how it goes.

I have one of these on preorder, waiting for them to take final payment and ship. Its just big enough for the work I want to do and just small enough to fit in my garage without major reorganization, and its on casters so I can move it around when needed! I really hope it works as well as advertised.
