What's new

Post up rare, custom, or just plain weird trucks!

You're looking at it stock vs 5.7 hemi. I'm looking it with other current alternatives.

If the truck was built 15 years ago, than a 5.7L / 545re was up to date... they didn't age well. If it's a 15 y/o build and only 2500 miles, it sucks to drive.

By today's standards, I'd want to see a 6.2/4L hemi, a double over autotragic worth a shit, or period correct with a fo-foty.

Don't kid yourself. That's a 10-12mpg truck with a slant, 318, or hemi.

Overspray screams liquid overhaul and 'muh hemi' with zero other insight given.
This is kind of rich coming from someone in your line of work.

1938 project truck, has a 7.3l turbo diesel with 5 speed transmission. Has new up pipes, new pedastool, rebuilt turbo, new fuel pump, new filter housing and fuel pressure regulator. Needs finished and needs a new clutch. Truck sits atop a 94' F-240 4x4 frame. Front clip tilt. New firewall. Would be an awesome truck to see on the road. Have to many projects, this one has to go.

Move the axle forward in the front and cut the shit outta the rear. Probably harder to drop it though. :flipoff2:
Rear is easy.

Start cutting shit up front and you gotta move literally everything that used to live under the hood to package your steering and up travel.

There's a reason even people who are capable don't do these builds.

No more difficult than moving the front axle forward on any other Chevy truck... Whats the big deal?

tell me you didnt look at the ad without telling me you didnt look at the ad.. :lmao:

Its a truck.
:shaking:

I know it's a trar. You're not gonna get low with that truck frame there so ditching that meth and mullet abortion is gonna be step one. I figured that went without saying. But I guess when you're dealing with retards you gotta spell everything out.

Even if you build a RWD compatible subframe and hack the floor for your shafts and transfer case you still need to get that engine up into the engine bay if you want it low or want uptravel which is gonna be difficult at best.

So what are they asking for it because that price is obviously a joke. That frame has got to be rusted to dust like a Toyota after sitting buried in the dirt like in the picture.

You might be surprised how good the frame is, especially if it was parked before the heavy use of salt. I've drug home more than a few trucks like this that were buried to the frame. If they weren't import trucks and were parked over 20 years ago they usually only have normal surface rust with a little moss on 'em.

I stopped and talked to the guy. He is from Mexico and says he has 5 of them. He showed me pictures. He said this one is still tagged in Mexico but he can tag it here now. He asked if I wanted to buy it. I said how much he said $2000. I said sold! Then he laughed and said Im just kidding I want $15k. I said thats too rich for me. He told me go look at it. Go look inside it. It was pretty nice. I asked if he had any 4x4s. He said they are all 2wd they never built a 4x4 factory. He said they cost 22k brand new. He said he had one he bought new.
