What's new

Portugal decriminalizing drugs

My girl has been smoking weed for the better part of the last 30 years. I brought home some from my local dispensary last week that she says is some of the best she's ever had.

Funny thing is she's been doing it for so long that the legal part kind of freaks her out, she's so used to hiding it while driving or having to set up a time to get it from a dealer etc that when I just walk into the dispensary and wave at the cops & security on the way out with a few eighths and a bunch of edibles I have to remind her that this is one type of 'new normal'.

Edit: just about everything I've ever gotten from my local dispensary has been grown/made/processed within a radius of less than 50 miles from the store.
We are vertically integrated. If it's in a store it was grown, harvested trimmed or processed in our facility.

What ol chap up there is forgetting is that these kids are all dabbing and have distillate carts and all the other shit that will rock your world. Some 30% flower aint shit compared to their puffco and some dabs.
The dab kids are wild, and obviously cooked most of the time.
Funny thing is after working for a weed company i dont even smoke as much now. Just a bowl before bed. Yesterday i was on a bender, 2 bowls before bed.

Seems like weed is way more vertically integrated than other places because of how transacting was a PITA and risk for the other guy for so long.

Yer gettin old :flipoff2:

I obviously don't know shit about the stuff, but it seems crazy to me to grow it indoors on a large scale when it's legal and sunlight is free.

Land isn't cheap and indoors you get a controlled environment so you're not worrying about things like theft, weather, humidity, animals, mold, bugs, etc. You also don't need all that many plants to get a fucking ton of weed.

Also the government demands it be grown in a secure place.
Because omg weed.
But we do have out door structures

You can grow outdoors here legally, it just has to not be observable from public view. Not sure if it's still the case, but it was leading to a lot of theft here the first year it was legal. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean you can't smell it so people were going outside in the morning to find someone had hopped their fence and ran off with their weed plants all the time.

Fenced property, on site security, a billion cameras.

The indoor facility we installed cameras and access control in a few years ago was wild.
I can’t remember how many millions of dollars was in each flower room but it was a lot.
It took two weeks just to aim all the security cameras exactly the way the state wanted them.

LED lighting really changed the game too. The majority of the money you're spending growing indoors is powering the lights and LEDs cost a fraction to run vs. the MH and HPS lights of years past.

Not gonna lie, Tahoe OG cart is my go to and a very nice, 'just gonna sleep a few more hours' kinda thing.

Because of some ongoing dental work I haven't been able to smoke or chew anything so I've tried a few of the tablets, those are nice as well but fuck me if I need to wake up earlier than planned, heh. I had one the other night that I didn't realize was 10mg instead of the usual 5 and it hit me like a hammer. Great sleep but I woke up about halfway thru needing to pee and it was all I could do to make that happen and then lay down again.

Definitely don't need or want to do any of it during the day. Just like it for night time because it works and frankly has knocked a couple beers or a few shots off my nightly list instead.

Switzerland is doing it right.

Good article about it here:

Switzerland couldn’t stop drug users. So it started supporting them.
They're probly doing better than any other country, but they'd still do better if pharmaceutical quality drugs were available over the counter, or at least by prescription with light restrictions. From what I've read, a user has to go at least two years before they can be supplied with the clean shit. The first two years will be with street drugs. Needs more work.

The white dots weren't good.
Probably mold, mildew or eggs.
And we just had some shit test at 35% THC, in a lab.
Most product is harvested and in a retail store in less than two weeks. You think the bricks from mexico are that fresh?

Find a better weed store.

White dots = best. Not mold. Pics added for reference.
And anything in brick from MX is shitty seedy brown bud.
All the good stuff was always grown local.
