I am about to port my Hydroboost and am wondering if anyone has a go/no go dimension for the spool valve? The current/stock OD is .585" with a wall thickness of roughly. 100". I found a thread on another forum where someone turned theirs down .050" to an OD of .485", leaving a wall thickness of .050, does anyone see a problem with this?

I am only aware of two vendors that offer/offered this service but haven't been able to find a dimension. .050" seems sufficient enough of a wall thickness to me for this application, but am curious if anyone had any input before I spin it up in the lathe.

For reference, the arrow is where I plan to do the machining.

Here is mine in front of that pic. I chucked mine up in a drill and used a file. Not the best job, but no probs after 4 years.

Thanks for the picture. I am pretty sure you were one of the authors in the old thread I found on another board.

At this point, I don't think it is rocket science so I am just going to chuck it up and go to town.
