Jm bullion is doing its 10oz at spot deal, it's legit, I've done it. So have a, uh, couple of family members:laughing:

Silver stepped back and stepping back up

Gold making new highs

BRICS is coming together, could be what lights the fuse on metals

When it happens, it'll happen fast.

I compare it to how fast the US population turned on Isreal, that shit happened FAST, and that cat isn't going back in the bag

How fast bud light got torpedoed

Shit can happen fast and never go back

last year I decided I was going to be that uncle who gives the kids silver for christmas, and just went through an ebay seller and bought a couple ounces for myself while I was at it. This time I went through apmex and caught it in a dip just after the election. The real problem with this system is buying Christmas themed rounds gives you a relatively short window to buy in...

I also let paranoia get the better of me and paid through PayPal rather than linking my bank account for the lower rate. turns out my peace of mind is worth $12 :homer:

My outlook on gold and silver has calmed down some with the election of Trump. People will feel safer investing in stocks, real estate, building businesses etc, and not worrying as much about the collapse of the USA and the USD. He's still not a strong dollar fellow, and I believe metal prices will creep up, and instability elsewhere in the world can create an overnight demand, but I think in general metal will be boring for a while. Still a nice place to park some savings, as inflation will continue, just slower than before

That's my .02

Awesome! The lesson that they get from that, even if it's just an occasional passing "money isn't real " or "what is inflation? " will probably be even more valuable than the coins, well done:beer:

This is my take also. Strange how BTC has gone up and gold down.

Anyone able to correct a newbie at precious metal? My goal is just to have a physical investment not sole investment.

I'm reading through the thread(about 3/4 through) and trying to get a better understanding.

It sounds like there are 3 to 4 different types of styles for precious metal to buy:
junk(??) - basically a coin/bar with a minter mark, cheapest in cost
rounds - cleaner but consistent price
currency and/or collectible - most likely to fluctuate so could net higher sale but could lose your ass if you didn't pay near spot(??)

What is the 'best' and/or 'safest' place to buy?
Ebay seems a bit sketch to me.
Mentioned were jmbullion, apmex, and moneymetals... is one better than another? Sounds like the fees they charge vary a bit 'wildly'.
What about local shops? Is it a hit and miss? I've got one 'near' to me in Placerville and I'm sure there is something over in Auburn.

Most seem to invest in silver. Is this just because it is smaller 'denominations' and thus a bit easier to trade in? Any reason not to go with gold for a given amount of money? For purposes of discussion, let us make believe ~$2700... better to have 1oz gold or a hair under 100oz silver?

Last part... it sounds like some states might charge sales tax when buying?:shaking: I'm in Calif but to avoid that expense, I would consider a drive over to Nevada.

Jm bullion, and I buy whatever I can thats as close to spot as possible. Ive found small denominations to be handy for sweetining the pot when trading or selling something and always keep a few oz in the truck.

I am going to have to pay attention more for when they do this again.

ETA: googling but silver at spot brought up the deal.

Same as others.
I go through Golden State Mint quite a bit though.

Why would you not pay sales tax in Nevada?

I sold the silver I had. It hasn't been above $30 many times in my lifetime.

no tax in Ca on metals buying or selling
Is that only buying local? Just started purchase online and they flagged me for sales tax without a 'get the fuck out of here' button:homer:

*edit looks like tax exemption only applies for purchases above $1500 or $2000... not clear from search.
*edit2 tested, it is $2k

Brain fart... might end up being less sales tax. I haven't looked recently:homer:
8.25% in most places. A lot of people think Nevada has no sales tax or 'no state tax'. :lmao:

We have no State INCOME tax...until a few more Californians move here and vote it in.

I only buy local , although i have been asked by a few of my customers if i accept silver as payment the answer is always yes :smokin:

Gainsville coin is one I've used in the past. I haven't researched in a while though. A mix of everything makes sense to me, and what I've done. Gold coins are harder to find recently in pawn shops around me.
