What's new

NY to ban natural gas in new construction.

NY along with Ohio and Pa sits on the Marcellus Shelf, the largest supply of natural gas in the USA…But let’s not use that….This idiot governor makes Cuomo look good..

Ah steam heat back to the 1920s we go..

WTF!?!? Water vapor makes up 97% of the greenhouse gases on the planet!

Don't let the greenies find out... Oh wait. That would be the "science". We're good.

:grinpimp:

I'm getting tired of this banning bullshit. Its an unlawful taking of private property.
True but it also lets you know the average IQ of ayone you talk to about it. Like right the fuck now you are going to know how dumb the mother fucker across from you is. So it has a silver lining:flipoff2::stirthepot:

Like wearing masks alone in the car.

I've always questions Gary, but that confirms it.

Same thing up here in Vancouver.

We been working towards rebuilding for a few years now, planning etc. And this year it was announced you can’t build with natural gas for heating or hot water. Unless It’s from a “renewable source”. How? It’s all one pipeline. You can use it for fireplace, stove, and outdoor bbq though.

Electricity is going up. City is forcing towards electrical heating and electric cars. Our provincial electricity company has said we don’t have anywhere near the infrastructure for this in Vancouver, and the city says not our problem.
WTF

I don't understand how any body could support this stuff. Gas is far superior for, ya know, saving lived and shit.
Isn't Inslee on this shame train?
pretty sure that I saw something like this working, or in the works for Washington

Like natural gas? Oil? fuck even coal is renewable, the planet is making more as we speak

Don't worry, BCHydro also wants to sell power at EV chargers below cost. Because that will solve their production and grid problems!

Luckily the utilities commission actually told them they can't fucking do that because obviously they would then demand taxpayer's money to cover the shortfall.

How can this even be remotely ok. Forcing people to use electric to heat their house is stupid. A enterprising propane individual could circumvent this bs.
As Rush used to always say, "Symbolism over substance".

It sounds good to libs; just don't put any thought, logic, or reasoning into it.

look, I'll agree that we're probably changing the environment with our emissions.
I'll agree that we should move on to electric cars, for the planet or some shit, but mostly because they're fast as fuck.
but when I tell them that I think we should ring the great lakes with nuclear power plants suddenly I'm a fucking monster.

I recently heard about the Vancouver thing. Just like Codes and such... the folks that can afford "new" carry the brunt of it. The rest of us can keep using what we have.

In the absence of piped NG where I am, I burn as much free wood as it takes to heat my place. Propane and oil delivery has become a huge racket. One can shuttle a tidy-tank or 100#'ers from the cardlock and save money. :shaking:

100% or 0% and such arguments. I also agree that we are having impacts on the environment.

I just don't see the need to care. I don't support dumping toxic waste into coastal oceans, but regulating any energy source away is retarded, in the literal sense

I don't have solar and WILL be one of the last to get it. I have natural gas heat, hot water, "fireplace" and stove if the quit offering ng here I'll convert it all to propane.
we had it in CA. It was pretty nice not paying an electric bill for the first five years u til SDG&E realized how much money they were losing and reworked the deal. We are actually going to look into putting panels on our place here in Maine since electricity here has gone thru the fucking roof the last few months. Net metering so it won’t be no electric bill but it should make a good dent in it. Especially given how much roof real estate we have that gets great sun all day.

I don’t see anything banning a wood burning stove 😃
It’s coming. I’ve seen plenty of tree huggers bitching about wood stoves and how bad it is for the environment to burn wood for heat and it contributing to the climate change BS. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that one coming down sooner or later as well.
