What's new

NWF ecobox output seal leak back into Np205.

I thought there was somewhere in the instructions that said to make sure one side of the snap ring was installed facing down, but quick glance I can’t find it again. I thought there was a rounded edge and a sharper edge.
Not really no. Snap ring is a snap ring. I think it was my own fuck up now, didn't grease the lip of shaft, nor the double lip seal and rolled the 1 side which eventually failed, ripping it off and sending it forward into the forward lip allowing all the oil to drain into the tcase.

I like doing shit twice apparently. The engine has to come out to replace the whole rear oil cover seal. (if you buy a used LS .... Change both front and rear covers/seals...)

Winchested--good to hear, I opted out of the old design box and have got Offroad Design's NP205 magnum underdrive box sitting in my garage waiting to be transplanted.

If I was to buy an NWF box I'd get those bronze washers he sells to replace the plastic ones for peace of mind, that is if they're not included. A guy doesn't need those things melting and leaving you dead in the water.

Not included extra $100 but worth it.

Isn't there a cross reference on McMaster Carr for $9?
Is there? I need to order a pair

The plastic thrust washers strike!! Sorry to see that and it sucks.

This is what I ordered off of EBAY , but in the long run you'd be better off bending over and buying the bronze ones from NWF.

DS New Process NP241 Transfer Case SMALL PARTS KIT SP241-50

Here it is cheaper, but I don't know if shipping is included.

I couldn't find the bronze ones either, except at NWF, but I wasn't looking real hard because I didn't know they existed until after I had my blackbox put back together. Worth it to research McMaster Carr like gozuki suggested.

I keep seeing NWF ecobox problem threads, I am glad i spent and extra 400 on the the ORD magnum, it has been flawless since day one.

Dumb question but where do the bronze thrust washer go? I've got the case in half and can't find good instructions assembly.

Is it the upgraded bronze thrust washer from NWF? If so, the planetary comes out pull the snap ring, you will find the plastic thrust washers and replace them

Yes it's the bronze washers. My plastic ones were mush in the bottom of the box when I changed the oil last.

Plastic vs bronze

Mine is for sale--the mating faces are not pristine, but it will seal up with some liberal use of the Right Stuff. 32 spline input for Chevy and 31 spline output to mate to a Ford NP205. I have a spare planetary too and a spare Ford NP205 input shaft. So if you guys know of anyone looking for one let them know. I need to take pics of it before I put it in the classifieds.
