What's new

new to me 1999 F350

And the snowball is rolling :flipoff2:

I don't think the exhaust is all that bad on the superduty 7.3s. Not like the cobra head down pipe on the obs :homer:

If I wanted to tow with a 7.3 again, I'd pull all my chips towards a better turbo. Lots of guys swear by the T4 setup, but the drop is seem to be getting a lot better as well.

3-4 years ago T4 was the only answer imo.

KC turbos is committed to the 7.3 platform and they are about to release their new turbo. They took a lot of the S300 turbo design and put it into a drop in. There’s a few guys running the prototypes on a ford forum and have nothing but good things to say. Is it T4 level? Idk, but I know it’s closing the gap between T4 and drop in.

KC has their shit together, I’m shocked they are still innovating on such an old platform but the owner says 7.3 stuff sells like crazy compared to the other platforms. He hasn’t fully committed to it but he’s hinted at VGT stuff in the future for the 7.3

Edit: anyways, my point is, you need more air if you go with more fuel. I’d look at the new KC turbo that’s about to be available

I did read a good point about KC vs T4. Make sure you're comparing apples to apples. T4 comes with new up pipes and KC300x does not. When you add new up pipes, the price isn't as different.

I feel like for a guy who wanted to bolt something up and have big gains, the KC sounds really good. It was my plan.

MY KC drop in is awesome, I imagine the prototypes are better based on what I've read on fte as 06h3 mentioned. I could def. handle some 160/30's but dont want to drop the $ on a tranny right now...

For stock injectors the kc balanced assembly is great (or stock plus drop in same thing)

Keep your stock exhaust, its stainless, well engineered and will hold up best, no need for larger size, just delete muffler and straight pipe with no worry of drone, or put straight thru muffler and it wont be much louder than stock. If my Truck did not come with the gay ass banks monster 4" already i would still be rocking the stock like i did with my 03'
