What's new

New build, rear steer or no?

I was talking about getting 45+ degrees with trailing arms.
Nothing is impossible, but I think it's hard to do.

If you're limiting at 25 degrees (for example) my point doesn't apply.

Also, how to you keep a rear HP60 alive????
Yeah I figured. I get 40* out of the rear. I don’t have to much of a heavy foot. More technical stuff. Rear holds up good. Has 10” R&P and I set the gears up a little different than the front HP. 5.13 spools front and rear.

40 degrees is really good ! That's awesome !
Care to post a couple more pics of the rear geometry / suspension ?

Best reason for rear steer is to do Cyclones!
Then there is crab steer around trail plugs, or steer lock the tires when you have no parking brake on a hill side.

Have been using rear steer for 23 years. Been glad many times I had that option, never regretted it, especially when you want to drive the front and rear away from like a can opener obstacle. My rig is a street legal trail rig and I like to keep the body.

It depends on what kind of terrain you wheel on, but if you want to do technical crawling at the highest level, rear steer is mandatory.

You said slickrock, but that varies a lot. Moab there's not a whole lot where it is really necessary unless you are running Black Flag or maybe Big Balls (AKA Rear Steer). Farmington is mostly shooting big commitment-type lines, but there are more and more guys with rear-steer cars cutting lines lately. Sand Hollow you want rear steer for sure on the big lines.
I know there are other slick rock areas, but I am not familiar with them.

I am in the "if you can afford it, do it" camp. It will definitely take things to the next level assuming you don't need an entire driver mod to go with it :flipoff2:
