What's new

My shitbox needs a new engine

I've personally never heard of them. So maybe that's a good thing seeing as they have been in business since 1961? Customers always complain about bad experiences and hardly ever praise the companies when everything works out the way they expect it should. What's Google say?

I wouldn't buy a reman onan l423, they're kinda junky engines
stick some jap-scrap in there instead like a kubota or an isuzu

That's a terrible, terrible swap unless your goal is to have better parts availability for a 1980s diesel ranger while maintaining it's abysmal power to weight ratio. Whenever you hear someone complaining that all the V6s less than the 4.0 make 4-cyl power with 4.0 fuel economy you can categorically write them off as retards who've never hauled more than a recliner. The shape of the curve makes the V6s a lot more suitable than the 2.3 for doing truck stuff and the difference in peak power is noticeable even though it's a small number since 10-30hp (depending on what you're comparing) means a lot when you're talking about a 100-150hp vehicle.

That said I would still rather have a 2.3 than a 3.0 or Essex V6 (yes, even the 4.0) because you're only an adapter plate away from putting a proper 11" clutch and SBF pattern truck trans behind it.

Have been looking at Jasper and a local shop for install.

Odd when one googles for Jasper it offers the 3rd link to Frasier Engines.

Anybody get a reman from these guys: Buy Engines and Transmissions In The USA | Fraser Engines Co

I don't have time to do it myself and a weekend to make the swap is something I can find time to make happen.

TIA

I recently started looking for a 2.3 Lima to modular adapter. I gotta be the only retard that wants that.
