why do they even need lids?

do they need jars?
Toilet paper, rag, sleeves, passing pedestrians.

If you have punched your share then you should know this is the application for a punch set up? I want to see the $30 cutter that yields 0.002" tolerance.

I’m 99.99% sure I never said the word tolerance anywhere in this thread. The tolerance is “if the hole looks round, it’s good”

Clearance, Clarence, is the size difference between the punch and die.

why do they even need lids?

or does the hole need to round and in the middle? Take a pair of shears and just cut off about 1/3 of the lid, or cut a pie piece out. Just leave enough to keep the remaining lid located in the ring.
