What's new

Mostly broke rocker crawler

This is why people hate ratrodders. Just because you're on a budget doesn't mean it has to be ghetto.

man that thing looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your project with us.

man you work fast!! I love seeing updates on your build. Looks great.

Bumped into some crazy bullshit reading psc installation instructions. It says to install the steering rods perfectly straight at full lock so it doesn't sideload the cylinder. I guess sideloading in every other position including straight is no big deal even though most your time is spent straight ahead. That and setup that way makes it off in every position accept one side full lock. In all my years I've never seen it recommend that way.
Don't think it matters in my case as mine stay pretty true but wtf

Full extended is the least supported position for the ram, and where the smallest side load has the most leverage to bend things.

That's how mine is setup, and has been since 2017 with a shitty TG ram.

Yes,but I think you're limited to say three mph at lock and the towed in side at lock will never be straight. It takes forces at all times at both sides. If it's off at center it spends most it's life sideloading every pothole and bump at most positions. Yes,it won't be fully extended but it still has 6 inches out on both sides taking loads.
Sounds alot like setting up good suspension geometry at full bump.
I'm not convinced it matters all that much on our mild rigs but it just seems like some guys personal opinion at one distributor is dictating how everyone builds steering.
