Our property backs up to a swamp and is overrun with mosquitos. Last year we paid a guy $300 to come spray them and it cut the population for about a week. I'm thinking about just buying a sprayer to do it myself, but no nothing about them. What to look for in a sprayer and what chemicals to use.

Stihl has the SR200 that seems like it would be fine for my 5 acre property and is $460. So two sprayings from the lawn company and I would have this thing paid for.

Anyone know anything about these sprayers?

this year feels like the small little bugs are way worse than years past. i too am looking into something to help with that. hanging a bat house tonight for starters, but that wont help for awhile.

Do those sprays kill just mosquitoes or all bugs?

What about one of these dynatrap contraptions? Do they work worth $100?

DynaTrap DT1260SR Mosquito & Flying Insect Trap with Pole Mount – Kills Mosquitoes, Flies, Wasps, Gnats, & Other Flying Insects – Protects up to 1/2 Acre https://a.co/d/iQjTYDf

I pay about $1k per year for a company to spray my property. They spray every 3 weeks once spring arrives, I think 11 sprays total.

They use Bifen in their blowers. I plan to get a blower setup and do it myself, just haven't gotten around to it.

Mosquito magnet is commonly used around home.

Bug spray and face nets in the Bush. Get bad enough you can't breath without choking on them.

I looked at the mosquito magnet. The reviews are terrible and for the same price I can buy a blower.

Reviews by who?

It works well enough at home I have to empty the hopper every week or so.

A guy I delivered to had 3 of them in his yard and had nearly a 5 gallon pail collected over the summer.
My folks have one, they were giving the mosquitoes to the chickens. They'd go crazy over them.

Another vote for the MM. My folks live in the mountains by a lake/swamp, and get pounds of bugs out of theirs.

Different attractants work on different breeds though, so it could be a regional thing.

Reviews on Amazon and all over the internet. Seems like it works well enough for mosquuito control when it is working but they constantly break and need to be messed with to keep operational. At least that is what every review I found said.

Ok, makes sense. I know mine is fussy for getting going on a new tank and I can see that being a widespread complaint.

The first one I had only lasted 2 or 3 months before it shit the bed. I ended up getting a new one on exchange at Lowes.

Grab one of these babies...

Same here, They are really bad evenings and mornings. tolerable during the day if in the sun. Our weather warmed up earlier this year.

so these work good huh, i have them up on amazon now....?
Yes. Mosquitoes only. They take a while, you're not going to hang them tomorrow and have relief this weekend.

Corner of the Ark-La-Tex, mosquitoe central, back yard is standing water 8 months a year. 2 hanging on opposite corners of 2 acres. My neighbors have mosquitoes... I don't.

I'm going to try them too. Have an acre with 15 acres of field behind me and a large forest to the side

I let the 'natural predator' Bats or Barn Swallows eat them. I use a fire pit if needed which works-

Those use to be great, but they changed the formula 2 years back, now... my experience was meh...

EDIT:

MAYBE I FUCKED UP. I MAY HAVE GOT The Spartan Eradicator one time and the Spartan Pro Tech one time. OOPS
Missed the edit. Oh well.
