Not sure what's going on here, But I had a super comp front engine dragster (8.90 index) And you literally bent your knees around the axle tubes, the seat sat right behind the pumpkin. The driveshaft was about 9" long.

I swear the big block out of the tow truck probably could have run the index.

It was MANY years ago, and it got pretty boring pretty quick, I think I had the car about a year, And I did more maintaince on the tow rig than the dragster.
