I open carry around here. Is that not normal in north Florida? I open carry into the grocery store or gas station, but I live in what could easily be considered a village. Most men around here are cowboys that open carry, if they aren’t pot growing hippies that just moved here.

Interesting, I personally don’t like open carry except in cases where your in the great outdoors. Open carry let’s a bad guy know where he can get a gun. You could be 6’6” and a MMA expert, but I could take that gun off you by surprise in a grocery store. But if everybody CC’d, the bad guy doesn’t know who to target to get a gun. I just think it makes for safer society.

If like you say, most men open carry, it might be OK because a bad guy doesn’t want to tackle me for my gun when you could be standing ten feet away.

I carried openly for years. I did have one person during an incident try and take my weapon. He ended up with a broken wrist and pretty bracelets.

If all those things do happen, maybe he doesn’t rob the place. Maybe he shoots the cop. Maybe he shoots multiple people. That doesn’t change my scenario. It still alerts him to the threat He must deal with.

I never said it was better and I think you missed part of why I carried openly. I asked how many times you had heard of it happening outside of inceidents with LEOs. I bet you cant find one incident of someone taking a civilians gun even after konking them on the head.

I used to carry an LCR for a while as a bug in a boot holster. Its like an ankle holster that attached to your boot. It was the extra mag to my extra mags. No speedloader but there was a small pouch that held a few loose bullets. I probably would have carried a speedloader if it was the only gun I was carrying.

I usually carry either a g43, or a .40 shield in an iwb with a en extra reg mag either in my pocket or an iwb mag holster. I keep 2 extra 10 rd mags for either in a small go bag. I bought a p365 a while ago but havent made a holster for it or the mags yet.

Is that a bad shot? Of course, it sounds bad, but I suspect it is not. You might shoot much better than that at the target range, but that’s not a shoot out. In shoot outs, I think it might be very good.

For example…..does the military do any better? How about gang members?

I know personally, when I target shoot in my back yard, I can hit a man sized target from 50’ quite easily when I stand and aim. But if I run around and suddenly stop and shoot, I’m ashamed of my record. And nobody is shooting back.

These are paint bullets (markers) fired from real guns. They wont kill you (shouldnt) unless it goes through your eye socket into your brain but they do hurt like a mother fucker.

Until youve actually had your shots counted while being shot at all your doing is showing what an uneducated dumbass you are.
