I have no experience with them but I've wasted $20 on worse

Some folks call it a slingbladeTry a Kaiser blade instead for the thick stuff.
Heavier, longer reach, and gives you some distance from briers.
Or a chainsaw.Try an axe.....![]()
It’s a soft wood but frozen. I think the glancing blows did it but I really don’t think they should have. Thin ****ty metal. I hit 0 rocks or hard wood with that blade and chunks of metal were flying. How hard is beech? I have a few of the cheapest chineseium machetes you can buy, and their rusty ass blades are nick free. I've hit plenty of rocks with them too.
MmmmmhmmmmmSome folks call it a slingblade

You might want to try a thrown hatchet. Considerably lighter than regular but still pretty strong. I have one in the sxs and I've used it for cutting smaller things out of the trail.I did after this, a hatchet anyway. It’s just heavier to use and you’ll accidentally lop little trees in half.
Looks like a Sog machete I had. Bought one made in South America and its been great. Its one of the tools that if I’m buying it to use I will buy it from an area that still use them daily.![]()

I need a stronger or thicker blade. I have ruined 3 gerbers. This one was freshly sharpened and lasted 5 min hinge cutting small beech trees. The other Gerbers all lasted longer and never failed this horribly.
Woodsman’s pale? Fiskars?
