What's new

Lets see your dash

RustyC how is the visibility in different lighting? Is it hard to read with a glare or too bright at night?
The tablet brightness is easily adjusted. No complains so far for sun glare the either the mount and roof kinda shrouds it.

Built this recently, still needs an oil pressure gauge and panel mount PTT for driver and co-driver.

I'd also like to add a tach and navigation in view of driver seat, seems a lot of trucks have a small Lowrance behind the steering wheel.

Here's the dash, overhead console and switch panel in my 64 Willys wagon.

Have you seen the One Gauge setup for the Fitech? Been thinking of maybe getting it for my truck to clean up the dash and extra stuff.

Anyone tried the multi switch/button panels?

Something like this?

Seems like a compact clean way to add a bunch of switches. But also I can see it really sucking if you have an issue since it's all contained.

I looked into a Switch pro panel before doing a normal switch panel. It wasn't cheap IIRC and honestly it being all contained doesn't appeal to me that much. I see so many things that 1 part wears out and the entire thing is trash in normal autos that I didn't want it on my buggy. I don;t there were economical versions at that time as the Switchpro panels were pretty new then.

Well fuck, at almost a G

The one I posted is 8 for $165.

I guess this is a departure from buggy dashes, but I thought it might be cleaner and easier in my 4runner, which is pretty mild and clean, so I don't want to be drilling a million holes in the dash.

It would probably make more sense to just make a small panel with those ~1/2" Dia push button switches.

There were no cheaper options then from what I remember in 2018 when I was starting it. I'd probably be inclined to try one at that sub $200 price point now. At that point though a 12v guy panel and waterproof pre-wired Eaton box around $300.

I bought one of those 8 switch auxbeams for my project. Have friends with both switchpros and knock offs and it is definitely nice for a street truck like your 4runner YotaAtieToo, keeps it clean and they are pretty simple to wire in the lights you want.

We'll see how it survives in my build when ever its running :lmao:

1968 Ford F250 prerunner project Old thread but almost finished on mine waiting on laser cut aluminum for tablet mount in middle of dash than reinstallation to make sure everything is perfect. Will be wrapping the whole thing with marine vinyl. Lots of progress pictures in my build thread. Lot of stuff going on with this dash, intellitronix 6 gauge cluster, oil and trans temp and boost gauge. 10.1" tablet in middle, restomod AC so 4 vents and 2 defrost vents, which I still need to install. Winters shifter, jb conversion twin stick shifter, glove box l, center console storage box. I've never done anything to this extent and am happy with how it's turning out, not happy with how many hours I have into it. I wish I had a supercab for a bit more room but it's all working out well.

Holley Pro Dash and 12 button Switch-Pros. Not budget friendly but clean and simplifies the wiring.

Added a turn singnal/lights/horn combo switch from RaceWire Solutions. Came with the harness and fuse box/relays. Install was easy, works great. Billit column mount is solid.

That blinker/horn/headlight switch is badass. Mind sharing where you got it?
Used em a fair bit:

Anybody have a wiring diagram for it? I picked one up after seeing one on a YouTube build. I figure I can figure it out, but would save a few minutes with a meter.

I really like the idea of a tablet gauge in a buggy but here in the Midwest mud and water is very common and always an issue I'd be worried about. Maybe a shielded dash mount with the tablet in an otterbox might be ok?

New buggy will have an 8.1/4l80, having a on-board scan tool would be nice

Kubota and I'm sure other tractors use that same switch if you don't need the fancy billet mount.

I'll make my own billet mount for that price difference - thank you sir

Since we're on the topic, these are some blinker switches I had saved that I was going to look into more once I got to that point

Similar to the above, you're basically paying for their billet parts to operate a basic toggle

Few options:

Interesting options on the pricier one here, where blinker shuts off after a predetermined time. Wouldn't buy it for that price, but has some cool features:

Hacktacular!
Everything goes through a circuit breaker, no fuses. The second case shifter is in-between the seats. The little knob on the shifter is volume control, the red button is get the fuck out the way. Yes, that is the original Toyota steering column.

Torque pro app with bluetooth dongle. There are settings in the app to force the device to go into sleep mode if the power is loss (key off) and wake up when the key is turned on. "key" is cycled at 20 sec in the video.
Looking into this more, what Bluetooth dongle are you using?

Where in the app are those sleep settings? That's the only thing I dont like about it. I have the charge cord for my tablet on ign and the tablet itself set to turn off when the charge cord isnt powered, but then I have to start torque again when the ignition is turned back on. If torque can do this itself I'd rather use that function instead.
