Leaf Springs

ATS Springs

Bought springs and other suspension related stuff (bushings, u-bolts, perches, etc.) from these guys for work on many occasions. Everything was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. They shipped the HD F-350 leaf packs I put on a customer's WAAAY overloaded service truck via LTL truck freight and shipping was quite reasonable. The truck belonged to a scale service company and they were always toting around tons (literally) of test weights to calibrate the scales they worked on. Went from a 2 leaf + overload to a 4 leaf + overload setup. Truck went from always on the overloads and sometimes on the bumpstops to rarely on the overloads. Driver said it went from buckboard to Caddy ride with the same ammount of weights in the back...

I've never once heard or seen a leaf spring fail on a stock vehicle, even after 40 years.
ive seen numerous springs fail on stock vehicles, happens way too often on first gen tacomas. about two weeks ago i put new springs in a 2003 tundra bone stock, both sides had broken leafs, rough dirt road life.

I have used Stengel Bros many times in the past and never been dissatisfied. Good place for springs, U-bolts and brackets.

We recently replaced the springs on a Furd in the shop and obtained the springs from one of the Furd dealers in our group. I was pretty surprised at how low the cost was for a factory part. Ram springs are usually twice that.
been using them for 10yrs now, good company.

I'm not saying it doesn't, just saying I've never seen it personally. The early tacomas actually had a recall for the leafs.

How many spring shops in clear lake? :flipoff2:

I knew you didn't live in town, but the general area. I don't know it that well so, clear lake is close enough :flipoff2:

It was the same thing at our last place, keys in all the trucks, garage unlocked, ect. But you tell people magalia, and they cringe

ive only been to magalia area once about 17yrs ago buying some tires off the hans, very nice place from what i saw at night. we have a place here in my county called cobb mt that is a miniature replica/similar to magalia/paradise(mountain community in a forest), it also burned in a fire. i own a lot up there that previously had a house that burned in the fire, im gonna start building a house there soon.

Funny, I grew up with him, he was the one who's dad had the 3 wheeler I was talking about in the 3 wheeler thread.

I've heard of Cobb, I had some buddies who worked that fire and they said it looked exactly like magalia.

It's a very nice area, but the tweekers are getting worse and worse. By some chance, the one neighborhood in the whole paradise/magalia area that didn't burn was the tweeker infested area known as the wood hood" (all the road names are types of wood or end in wood)

Hopefully Cobb still has some trees, most of the burn scar area where I came from was pretty much clear cut and had no resemblance of what I lived there for. With a family and kids, I couldn't deal with another fire season of getting evacuated 3-4 times. So here I am. :flipoff2:

Oh, leaf springs!

unfortunately cobb is following in the footsteps of every where else and the tweakers are growing, not all of cobb burned id say slightly less than half of it did, the old vacation cabins turned into homes for the tweaks did not burn just like you describe. however its mostly a good area, one of the few nice places in the county to live which is why i purchased the lot.

this is no longer a leaf spring thread its a fire thread now :flipoff2:
