Kids bikes

:lmao::lmao: yer fucked:lmao::lmao:

He wouldnt have done that, if he knew that in 1998 that was hard core shit:flipoff2:

Right? I remember no footers being x games worthy!

His weapons grade ADHD riding buddy said to him the other day that he's gonna start working on backflips. Lach comes riding up to the parents "uhhh...Logan says he's gonna start working on backflips and I think a grown up should go talk to him!":lmao:

Same parts as last time, except the shifter shaft is bent too this time. Gonna reassemble and sell this bitch in favour of a klx or crf110. The obvious answer here is more power.

Motocross season is wrapped. Told him the fast kids were double-doubling it. He nailed it a couple times, and uh...also this. Once he got the front end back on the ground he resumed the previous program of "wide-fuckin-open."

Wild to see his skills progress over the year. From little 6" airs to being the fastest of the slow pack to the slowest of the fast pack and leaving the slow kids in the absolute dust, and picking off anyone who fucks up in the fast pack:smokin:. A lot of bike problems, but we're gonna talk to Pax Racing and see what they can do for us for a race motor for next year.

Aaaand also in the market for a 65. Gotta get him sorted out on 2 levers. Sooner he starts, better he'll be at it.

Staging lanes with his crew this morning.

That was a pretty smooth recovery man. He's getting good at staying in it for sure!

Not bad for one season racing!

The previous weekend while I was away hunting, my wife solo-parented a hare scramble. He had a full minute lead and a "volunteer" sent the fastest kids in each class one way, and all the rest of the class another way. 7 minute delay. He passed everyone, no one passed him, he came off course thinking he was first, and found out he'd been fucked over and was fourth. My wife tried to protest it and was told "too bad, we're not running it again." The usual kid's race organizer is in the Phillipines for work, and the venue was changed with less than a week's notice, so it was chaos all around. They also sent the kids to race without medics on site:mad3:.

I'm fucking pissed, but there's nothing I can do.

Life lesson in government for him. Never forget what they'll take from you just because they think they can.

How do events and shit have like a sixth sense to know when they can pull one over on you just because it's only mom that's around? :mad3: Though props to her for having the awareness to go and protest it.

Just barely. You can get a 1" drop spacer for the rear shock and slide the forks up in the clamps and he can get tip toes on both feet. He grew almost 8" this year!
Dang, they grow so fast. My 7 year old just jumped back on his ktm adventure mini after being off it all summer and he needs a bigger bike. Currently eyeballing a 110 after 2big bronco let him ride his around. I think we're more trail ride-ish than race, and the seat's a few incher lower than a 65. Of course he's gonna need regular sized bars on his, but had a blast on this one:

The only complaint I have with the 110s is they are HEAVY.

We ride trails too....but they're not suitable for a 110 either lol.

They are. I had a back and fourth with my kid about that. He liked the 110 with the semi auto gearbox, electric start, and all the torque. I told him it was like 160lbs and asked what if I could get him a taller 2 stroke like what he has (SX in the tall setting). He wasn't biting. I bet he'd be into the 65 because gearbox, but the 110's seat is at 25.9" and he's on tiptoes there.

You can get them down pretty low. And the '25 ktm can be dropped to 24.9":smokin:

We're a mountain bike first moto second family, so I might have a hard time selling the wife on a brand new 65. They're a little more pricey than 110s. Might have to look around used and see what kind of lowering links they've got.

Also heard the move is to put a rekluse clutch on for kids who are riding a clutch for the first time.

We are waffling hard on new or used. Probably end up on last year's yz.
They're direct mounted to the swingarm, no links, so you can put a spacer in the rear shock to drop it some.
Buddy told his kid he can run a cheater for the first year. Problem there is, it's hard to find neutral, so if they drop the bike and shut it off, it's a nightmare to get started again.

Seems like that would be teaching them bad habits right off the bat?
I dunno. I think it'd be a struggle to go from small bike no clutch straight to tiptoes, figuring out what get to be in, and clutch. Seems like a lot of hurdles to overcome all at once. Easier if you can at least touch enough to kick the bike.

Isnt that the norm? Bikes slightly to big for the kid? I was in high school before I had a bike that wasnt to big for me:lmao:

The guys I see with a rekluse that knew how to ride prior, do pretty good.
I have yet to see a newer rider not use a rekluse as a crutch.

Fair point. I've never used a rekluse myself, so it's all new to me. Rode with a few guys who had them. They never really talked about them, but they were also really good riders for years before that came out.

We had a 65 party at the last motocross. 3 kids learned to ride a clutch and shift in about a minute and a half each and were ripping laps of the lower (empty) parking lot for long enough to have people get grumpy about the dust being kicked up. He already knows how gears work from rising a 110 or a 50 right? Just needs to learn a clutch to take off and stop!
