What's new

Is KOH going to happen?

It has not been brought up, those people that are going have been talking about it in the 2021 Koh Event thread. I'm down, just not sure what that would entail.

If anybody is racing in the 4600 or EMC be sure to hit me up for parts you need, I'm offering big discounts in exchange for advertising irate4x4 on your rig :smokin:

Why you gotta tempt me like that? I’ll have to put doors back on the Jeep for window net purposes and both my half doors are big blank pieces of real estate that could easily take a couple of big ass irate4x4 graphics. What kind of parts? Thinking tires and wheels are gonna be my biggest expense to be able to go race legends class.

Also, if any one is going to be in any of the races, post up your team name and team #. If I get my media credentials for KOH, I'll do my best to try to get shots of your rigs & share them with you all.

Dooo eeeet :flipoff2:

Here is a list of vendors that irate4x4 sells parts from. Let me know what you're looking for.

Having do jump through a crap load of hoops to carry at KOH (an actual right that is being infringed) doesn't sit well with me either or having to buy an OHV sticker for a plated vehicle. So :crybaby:

Unless something has changed, you do not have to buy a green tag for a plated vehicle. I never did.

Why don't people want to get tested?
I get tested regularly, it's no big deal.

as mentioned i believe there will be some issues with medical coverage in the future for testing positive. also i want the deniability that i didnt know i had it so i can do what i need to do and provide for my family. is my tin foil hat a little tight, maybe but i dont need the state showing up for a quarantine check. i believe we are getting close to that than people realize.

pre existing conditions denial and all.

dirt bike/ATV, should have clarified.

Must be an out-of-state plate? I've never had to have an OHV sticker on a cali plated dirt bike before... Didn't know they wouldn't honor out of state plates. I used to see guys cruising full blown sand rails around with AZ plates on them in some california state parks before.

I must have got bad info then. I've got plates and told I need to get a sticker. Anyways I remember the snafu I had with the sticker more then the rest.

I have never heard of anyone needing any kind of special permit for anything that is legally tagged/insured in another state.

bike, atv, sxs, rock crawler, bouncer....

not once and I've been on the lakebed every year since '03

Where did you find documentation saying otherwise? Or what agency told you that?

Sheesh.

An Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHMV) also commonly referred to as an off-highway vehicle (OHV) is any motor vehicle operated on publicly accessible lands, including registered highway vehicles. Any such motor vehicle that is not registered because it is to be operated exclusively off the highways is required to be issued and display an identification plate by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This identification plate is commonly referred to as a "California Green Sticker." Identification, also referred to as "OHV Registration," is the equivalent of registration for OHVs, and has the same meaning. The registration fee is $52 per vehicle, and is valid for a two-year period. The OHV fees are used for acquisition of new OHV areas, development and operation of existing OHV areas, enforcement of the rules and regulations, and protection of the natural resources. For additional information regarding the OHMVR Green and Red Sticker Fees, please download the OHMVR Information Bulletin dated April 24, 2009.

DMV will issue a Green or Red Sticker for your off-highway vehicles. Vehicles which can be operated both on- and off-highway will be given a street-legal license.

OHV Registration Requirements

Street-Legal License Plate:
Green sticker identification is not required for properly registered vehicles with a license plate. However, the plate must be properly displayed at all times, including off-highway.

Green or Red Sticker:
If you are going to operate a motorized vehicle off-highway only, you must have either a Green Sticker or a Red Sticker that has been issued by the DMV.

The Green Sticker indicates vehicles allowed to operate on public lands open to motor vehicles all year. The Red Sticker is issued to motorcycles and ATVs model year 2003 and newer that do not meet the emission standards established by the California Air Resources Board (ARB). Vehicles not certified to meet ARB standards are required to indicate a "3" or a "C" in the eighth position of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

The Red Sticker is valid identification, the same as the Green Sticker except these vehicles can only be operated in specific areas during certain times of the year. To find out when you can operate your vehicle, call the specific riding area you want to visit or view the information on the Red Sticker Open Riding Schedule web page.

In Oregon you need an OHV tag to run the trails even if you have a plate.

They are $10 and good for two years. Washington honors them as well, but you only need a plate in Wa.

EDIT: I don't mind it as the ORV areas there are very well signed, marked, and cared for.

CA does have the best 7 day new case average chart that we can make a "spike" with :flipoff2:

ignore that, while it is a driver to the whole of the US, the whole of the US isn't having a similar pattern.
