With how the media is portraying the kungflu and actual flu season most likely bringing numbers up, is comrade admiral general newsome going to allow this event?

Unless the feds can pull some strings over Newsom, it’s a crap shoot. I’m not sure which county JV is in, but most of the state is in the highest tier currently.

Willing to bet CHP will be sitting at Boon road as well as other access points turning people around.

I'm not even gonna bother this year.

Just do it unofficially. No permitting, no problem. I dont think he has the manpower to disperse that kind of crowd

Even if they did, what is stopping folks from having the biggest trail run of the century. I know 90% of the spectators don't wheel the trails there, but alot of the race teams have multiple vehicles to pre run/trail ride, and fuck off.

They didn't shut down Sturgis, but that is a different state.

Registration for drivers has been open for a week now. Saw a post on their Facebook page that spectator registration is opening shortly with some adjustments to meet restrictions.

The country is going into full shut down when the sniffer hits the oval.

Just food for thought.

I hope so.

I heard at the last U4 race that the race would happen no matter what, even if the start/finish is on private property. Not sure how they would get around the the BLM closing the OHV area ...

It's the first ever federally sanctioned OHV area so I don't know if the state has a dog in the fight. I'm just trying to feel it out.

BTW. I'm going no matter what. We've put way too much time and effort into this.

I hoping it still happens as I put in my request for media credentials but wouldn't be surprised though if they change the date so that it happens in the spring, like in April

didn't they even run a lockdown race earlier this year just as an extra "fuck off" to all the things being closed?

I would think being next to the base and on federal land would make it easier to get access and get it done. might not be able to have the helicopter cameras, but othewise, hollywood is up and running :rasta:

Score has been having races but they were enforcing/pushing masks pretty heavily. But yeah interesting.

I watched Blake Wilkeys recap of his last race (Battle at Primm). He got a 10 minute no mask penalty while out of his car looking for parts

I was hoping it would be officially cancelled. Allowing it to return to its early days of just some people wheeling with friends. No structure, no barriers, no gates, no rules, no sponsors, no media, no spectators. If it happens, there will be no word of it until its over. Its one of those things that you have to be there with no time or date and wait for it to happen.

Seems pretty easy to social distance in the desert to me.
Also it's outdoors, even the media tells us we can do anything as long as it's outdoors.

Sounds nice (as a fan that stopped attending) but that ship has sailed. There are too many partnerships and too much money on the line to pull it off, IMO. Not that another “non-race” couldn’t happen, but it would not be “King of the Hammers.”

That happened earlier this year

No offense to you intended, but I'm always confused when people say this like it's something that is now an impossibility. You can get your friends together and do this any other week out of the year out there. Shoot, it already happened for the big names racing once this year.

Get some buddies, challenge them to a race, come up with a course and set a date. Easy.

Commiefornia will be in a full lockdown.
