Interesting Craigslist finds

Wasn't that Finnegans? ^^
Edit: close, but nope.

Not exactly CL but I found an auction with a bunch of motorcycle shit that closes today that nobody's even made the min bid on.

Edit: Either I'm a retard or they moved the closing date. I think it's the latter because I was sitting on this for nearly a week before posting.

I have no motorcycle experience but I'm kind of eyeing that group of three Kawasakis.

I'd buy that entire auction if it sold at the minimums. Lots of room to make some money.

I'm not looking to make money. I'm looking for a cheap POS to make run well enough for me to decide if I like riding a motorcycle in MA traffic enough to shell out the $$ for the license endorsement.

This is the listing I'm looking at.

The Honda Shadow seems like it could be OK but I assume it's gonna go for real money because they thought it was important enough to separate it out and not sell in a lot.

I could probably make one of the five Honda's run but I don't want five fucking motorcycles.

I think at least some of this shit is gonna sell at minimum because November is not "hey I could use a motorcycle project" season for most people and these are all old enough that there aren't many people left who tinker on bikes from this era. I'd like to nab one of the Japanese bikes but maybe I'll just submit minimum bids for everything and hope to win something. What I really don't want is to spend $1000 and own 40 bikes.

that shipping container lot may have some money in it? is that sheetmetal for a cuda? and a bunch of new shit in boxes, and are those trans' next to the boxes some sort of manual race trans or just old shit? if i knew what that stuff was and had the time, it'd be interesting to flip

Yeah that's what I thought too but I don't have time and I'm not a Mopar guy.

I think you could probably go up to $300 and break even just on the AL intakes alone.

I think fundamentally it's a bet on how many old boomers are still in a condition to turn wrenches. People born after say 1980 or so seem to generally prefer reman or new china consumables whereas boomers go crazy for NOS stuff that's been sitting in a box for an unknown number of years and gen X can kinda go either way.
