Edit: Wait is that a 4x4 grader vs a 6x4?
I didn't even notice. I figured it was RWD. But looking at those front hubs you might be right.

Yup. Turns out they're 4wd. Diff any everything is visible in this auction.

I own three of these so there's no reason for me to be picking up more but otherwise I would at this price.

If I'm not mistaking thats an old Sprint engine. I think that's what they were referred to. :smokin:

I would buy that at $200 without even having a home for it. Kinda how I ended up with one.

They were called Sprint sixes after a factory version that was 250ci with a 4 barrel & dual exhaust. Cool engine, apparently it's downfall was it wasn't much cheaper, if any, than the small poncho V8s. Also suffered from a lack of cam bearings (cam rides on aluminum cam towers integral to the head).

Guessing that one is the tamer 230ci. I have a similar one from a 66 LeMans that will eventually get a Chevy 292 crank and bored to get 302ci, 4 barrel, headers for dual exhaust, custom cam, etc. Then tossed with an NV3500 in my slammed 70 GMC, which donated it's SBC to the 53 Willys. Until that happens, it hangs out on an engine stand under the mini fridge and microwave. Dude pulled it out to put in a 350 Chevy, I got it for $300.

I know, cool story brah.

LOL, I just gave one of those to my best friend from high school. Early 50s unit with a two barrel and high compression head. Included a '39 flywheel/clutch/pressure plate/bellhousing in case he wants to use it with a manual instead of a Hydromatic.

Sounds like a high torque, low RPM wheeling rig engine swap candidate to me!
