haha oh man... that would make a fun buggy build to add to a tube chassis kit.... only $1000?????? shitttttttttt, but then I would need to buy a trailer too haha.

It maybe worth it due to “CJ-8” though as not many were made and not many of those are left.

Nope. That pos is way too far gone.

So, is the current seller lying about a rebuilt engine? Still worth the $1k all day

Thats what I was thinking. Complete running drivetrain and axles with lockers? If I were doing a small buggy Id be all over that for a grand.

I would say if you southerners wouldn’t have scrapped rare-ish vehicles when they were twice this good 10 years ago because they were ‘too far gone’ there would be better candidates left than this for the same money. It’s always the south causing trouble…:stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

A bought/sold an original rust free CJ8 earlier this year. Not my fault yankees are too stupid to have anything nice year 'round :flipoff2:

Back in the late 70's and early 80's I sent a lot of good rust-free muscle cars to the crusher. You could still get parts at the dealer so parting them out wasn't much of a money maker.
I crushed a '70 Trans Am. I put the engine, Turbo 400, wheels and steering wheel in my '69 Firebird. I may have sold a couple parts, and then it went to the crusher. It had been lightly hit in the right front. Needed a fender and suspension work.
Sent a rust free '70 Formula to the crusher. I took the engine/tranny/steering wheel/wheels and hood, maybe sold a few parts and off it went.
The same with several first gen firebirds.
Usually, they needed paint and interior work. Not worth it when they were worth less than $500 as is and $1,500 fixed up.

4x4 van with a v drive? 2 front diffs? WTF? Its a thing, had to go look it up. Never heard of it. Seems pretty goofy to me. Anybody with experience with these?

I've seen it before. Goofy, unreliable, and parts are unobtanium. But it could make for a good conversation piece. Believe they used them on ford wagons as well.

Wagons and Chevy vans were much, much rarer. There's like one pic of each floating around the entire internet. The overwhelming majority of conversions were done on Ford Vans.

Also, don't forget that they're only D30 R&Ps in there.

Everyone with CJ in their username is old as dirt. :lmao:

2x d30 is d60

also, they got a funny angle to the pinion coming off the ring gear that ain't 90 deg, so no they aren't d30 parts
I thought they were a normal D30 and accomplished that with a joint in the tube like an old Buick.

I might be wrong though. It's been awhile since I researched this stuff.
