Quickly approaching the end of my attempts at peaceful options. The local pest control guys claim it’s illegal to kill these f’n bats here in southern Utah. I’m not looking to go straight for the most extreme options, but not really all that against it anymore either. Looking for solutions, someone here has to know something…
The bats keep returning nightly to our covered front entry and our covered back patio. Shitting and pissing all over the walls of our brand new house. We’ve tried what are supposedly the best sonic bat deterrent devices available. The company that makes them guarantees results and has even sent us additional units free of charge, but these f’n bats are not phased in the slightest.
Contrary to what google has to say about it, mothballs don’t work and neither does peppermint oil. I’m thinking about attaching some of those sticky mouse traps to the ceiling upside down in their favorite corners. However, I kind of doubt that I’m up against the same bats coming back each night. So if I kill a few, more will most likely just take their place. We need a long term bat repellant solution.
I’d rather not purchase a home defense attack falcon and learn how to train it to hunt bats. That sounds excessive and involved, but at this point I’m just not sure what else can be done? I suppose the attack falcon could also help with the door to door church folks, but that’s another thread for another day…
