How does this ram come apart?

doesn't the inner part need to be unthreaded now? (or is there a retainer ring)

That 1/4" thing just outside the part with the female threads is a snap ring.

I just tacked the bolts in figuring I might have to take them out later... but it doesnt look like it

Not to get too fancy, but drill another series of bolt holes in that plate and you can use the same tool as the seal bushing puller.
