How Did You Know You're Getting Older?

When your childhood chores/punishments become enjoyable.

I haven't been doing much today, but I got up early to do it. Been farting around the yard since sun up and quite like it.

Tin Roof "Mmm, jalapenos are pickled goodness"

<jalapenos> i am the god of hellfire, and i bring you... HELLFIRE :grinpimp:
Habaneros brah, still enjoy them with some Italian sausage, not looking forward to the day that my body nopes out on this pepper goodness.

Well, he did mention jalapenos so...

I can say from experience that pepper intolerance 'sucks ass' ... which is why i won't Habanero. I love me some jala's so i'll stick to pepper-level jalapeno and never go Haba.

I have chilled, jarred jalapenos in the fridge at home right now, and some fresh jalapenos for homemade salsa recipes in a bowl on the counter as well. :smokin:

Well the hair started to gray in my 30’s.
I’m either 45 or 46 this year
Occasionally my left knee tingles been driving manual for 25 years. But can still run short sprints and walk an average of 11k steps a day.
I work out side carrying either large aluminum items like beams and tubes that average 75-200lbs each solo unless they are over 18 ft long or bigger then 8’x10’ frames. Still carry vinyl or canvas fabrics that weigh 75-100 lbs by myself they are usually bulky though.
I drill on average 200-1k holes a week in either concrete or metal.
Carry 12ft double ladders or 32 foot extension ladders up to 1/8 miles at times and move them constantly through the day.
I spend an average of about 20 hours a week in the sun on a roof of various elevations.
I usually work 11-16 hours a day six days a week and then still comes home to chores cooking and home repairs and possibly paper work.
I find it’s easier to work electronics and other things small things without glasses.
I can count the number of times I’ve been on the road after 9 pm in the last six months on one hand.

Started wondering if the slang I'm using isn't fit for me anymore. Might need to start talking more my age.

Fuck that, own it. The newfags slang that doesn't make any sense like based, bet, bussin, cap etc etc is fucking stupid so we can ignore that shit and talk all the shit to the moronic kids that use it.

Today while checking some plants I happened to brush against some stinging nettles. Now I don't know if the tingling in my fingers is from that or 30 years of swinging a hammer. I brushed up against the plant about 4 hours ago. :mad3:

The movie The Karate Kid made me feel old.

When I was a kid, I remember watching the karate kid and seeing Mr. Miyagi's car collection and thinking those cars were old as hell. According to my dad, the one Daniel drove around in was a '47 ford. So that movie came out in 1984, which would make that cherry Ford 37 years old then. A 37 year old car today is a 1987 model year. YJs, 1st gen 4runners, and my parent's Suburban now suddenly are as old as that ford was when I watched the movie as a kid.

Waking up sore from doing things that didn't make me sore, or having gray hairs, or even young dudes at work dont make me feel old. Thinking some kid is viewing at a 1987 4runner the same way I viewed 1947 ford makes me feel old.

And when a simple job of cutting up scrap ends in a trip/slip fall and 10 stitches. So much for my cat like reflexes, one second stepping over a frame rail and the next laying on the ground in pain, not sure how or when I went from the vertical to horizontal position.

I was getting my haircut last week by a girl I've known since middle school. She mentioned it was getting a bit thin up top. I accused her of calling me old and that we were the same age.

She whispered in my ear, "you know I'm a grandma right?"

Still hurts a bit. :lmao:
