Fuck that, bullying is how you set up the natural pecking order in society. The absence of it is what has landed us where we are today.

That makes more sense with regard to the delay taking out the threat.
I don't know how the SS differs between a current or former president, but maybe they are a bit more cautious before taking out threats with a former pres. Would make sense from an encounter standpoint of someone who is "walking" around in public more. Can't shoot ever potential threat before it is verified.

Seems to me, as soon as a weapon is spotted it's on
This isn't like some dude walking around with a weapon just "Looking at the trees"
nah, can't just shoot every rifle you see in rural PA

that's bad optics.

of course, lay down and get behind the rifle, or raise it and look down....well, that'd be different.

That's what I was implying
Some dude just walking around with a rifle slung over his shoulder? "Need to keep an eye on that"
Dude on a roof, with a weapon, looking at the stage of a major event involving someone "vaguely important? "Uh, Yeah. Better not take any chances"

Watching CNN and MSNBC feign concern for Trump and call for toning down the rhetoric with "ya butts" is priceless.
These people are having a hard time saying Hitler shouldn't be taken out. None of them believe what they are saying, so basically they're still telling lies.

I guess they have consistency going for them. Which tells me they might tone it down for a week.........maybe.

of course, that is also where government incompetence and diversity hires come into play.

Tired of scrolling, any pictures of the rifle?
Tagging on to that, what rifle/chassis were the two police snipers using? When I zoom in on their pic I get this weird AI vibe off of how they're laid out.

2 gun match last May had us run up a ladder laying on the berm to the top where you layed down prone no bag and hit 6 steels on a rack at 115yd. The grass in the field was just under the targets, not quite obscuring them. They started at 8" and got smaller to 2". That climb was after shooting the rest of the stage which started in the back seat of a mini van with the pistol.

Granted we're not being shot at. But we are going for accuracy and time so there is pressure to be fast.

Next weekend is 2 gun, I'm looking forward to it.

I haven't done 2 or 3-gun in a while, but I don't run like the fast guys do, I sorta hurry. We've also done stages where you have 5 cards on a table 10 yards behind you and you have to flip over a card to tell you which target you're going to shoot at, run the 10 yards get prone and take two shots at that target, then repeat 4 more times in 90 seconds Even the young guys were huffing and puffing on that one.

I didn't see any pics, but it sounded suppressed. A lot of agencies use the Desert Tech MDR in whatever caliber, (.308 is popular), presumably due to it's bullpup design and resulting shorter overall length.

could be bs, but the visor guy on the ground said shooter was up there a minute, and In the video where you see the sniper return fire, he does not appear to pivot 90°

Believable, if they didn't know he was on the roof, thats the only way to explain the return fire so quick. No way could they aquire him that fast
