got some more work done.
this is where we finished up at. now donnie is a huge dude. and the seat is on the floor. and he should have plenty of room now for sure. i believe he got it 2 inches taller and 8 wider. we both got the sub frame one or two inches deeper also.

chaplinfj60 progress is looking good! Is he planning on running the Kirkey seat or just using it for mockup?
using them. donnie is a dirt track guy and has PRP seats in another buggy and does not like how he sits in the PRP. loves the racing seat. he says he just stays put. and loves that about them seats

Ah I gotcha and was just curious.

i was not a fan of them seats, but after sitting in it i dont mind them at all. there is a good amount of padding and your coil overs will absorb any impacts for sure/. plus them side bolsters just plain keep you in the seat. more importantly if you flop it you stay with the seat not half way out.

Makes sense there and everyone has different levels of comfort/preferences too.

Current buggy was built with stock ZJ seats. They were insanely comfy but didn't hold you in place when wheeling, so swapped them out for some older Twisted Stitch suspension seats. Now I'm comfy and safer (theoretically anyway since I barely ride). :shaking:

there you go... turn a negative about not riding into a positive because your safer. :grinpimp:

are his PRPs custom size to him or just using off the shelf ones?

there are some hardshelled race seats that are comfy and safer than the roundy round jobs

more progress done .

chassis 1 is almost all together, we left the roof bars out till the end because its a pain in the ass getting in and out all the time being hunched over.
seat is sitting about 4 inches off the floor. plenty head room. this is a big chassis. big i tell ya.

i got my LS to the house the other night and verified it was a 5.3 by pulling a plug and bore scope to see dished piston. LM7.
its been sitting in a barn for a 3-5 years. smells like mouse piss and shit... yay... gonna get a gasket kit and decide on what else to after i get into the tear down. no power upgrades. no cam. no turbo. nothing crazy. hell low range is all the extra power i need.

Donnie is gonna weld out the chassis more and then we will do chassis number 2, mine. and then we will put both side by side and work engine and links and other shit.

Fuck ya bud:usa:

You doing your chassis 2nd so you learn from all the mistakes on his? :flipoff2:

I'm usually in the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" but some unknown engines hav from a barn, I'd probably just rebuild it if you're in question at all.

so i got them rams the other day, they were mention in Chief buggy thread. huge i tell ya. these wont be too crazy to figure out mounting and such

if i go with a 12.2 orbital i will end up with 3.3 lock to lock. maybe able to go bigger but not sure flow will keep up. and that is part of the formula i dont have. i will pull the the radial dynamics set off off the old buggy and use it again.
