good morning all.

so i have been back and forth on new buggy no just fix mine. new buggy... fix mine...

so after the last bit of drama with the ring and pinion i decided i needed a new front axle. but putting that in the current buggy was again cutting apart something and JUST MAKING it work. so once i saw this vid..... no brainer

15 percent off. and i have been following his work and like his fab. so a buddy and me both ordered one today. the best part is he (mike) is will work with you on the size if something needs changed. no big deal. like mine i asked for a little deeper subframe because i am using 205 and it a bit taller than atlas or dana 300. not much but it will make the floor and seats easier to do. Donnie is a big dude so he asked for it to be a couple inches taller and wider.
we also chose the three seat chassis.

plans are to do both with SD front axle and LS. more to come as updates start to happen.

here is his web site

parts for this one. not useing front axle using super duty front and using ford 205 not gm. using 14 bolt . all the steering. seats . tcase trans and a bunch of other little shit

Looks like it's gonna be cool! I take it you ARE doing the 3 seater chassis not the 2? Is your current buggy a 2 seater?

only doing 3 for extra room in back. still keeping it a 2 seater
from my understanding it the same chassis but the 3 seater frees up room for rear rad and tool box and such so thats a win to me. and having all that junk behind bars

Right on. Wasn't sure if you were going to repower this one and keep it as spare or what.

The 3 seat thing is handy, my new one will be a 2 seater since I'm over more than one passenger and I want to change the back of the cage anyways

14 year old .. that is funny he is you and was a marine. so he has my vote. but again the biggest thing was the ability to change up little things with out any drama. super easy to work with.

i was gonna do a complete new one but could not justify having all the good parts sit. plus buying all that would set me back a couple years. but i did get a lotto ticket last night lololol

Yea I hear you on that. I figured If I'm gonna build it, I might as well use the parts I want. Probably not the best financial decision but I'll have the rig I want. Plus I'll have a rig to wheel while working on the new one.

Why not just build a pass drop 14b front and leave the current tcase as is?
its is a good question for sure.. one i have went back and forth on alot. i think regardless i want to be on the drivers side for added clearance between drive shaft and engine and such. i know it can be done. but you do pose a good question of why not.
one thing if i did do a 14 bolt front i would still keep it 35 spline but go 1550. and factory length super duty shafts. and thats just so i could run normal spares and not be a complete unicorn on the trail. but this is all just ideas i bounce around my head on a daily basis and such,

ooooor, you go 40sp and don't need spares...

Just saying...

Awesome to see a new build, I really like the look of his chassis

From a guy that has missed a few wheeling seasons, keep the old one functional as long as possible/budget allows

i hear ya on missing the wheeling for sure.

i did get old 1992 landcruiser that will be taking a beating if need be while we work on these two. hahaha

I'd run the Super60 10" gears in the SD housing with 1550 shafts is the best bang for the buck. I'd rather break a shaft then break the R/P.

Sub'd

fair point for sure. most likly will be SD
i was reading about 10inch gear yesterday and i thought they could be put in the regular SD housing with a bit of grinding but now i can find where i read that .

These go right in 05-16 regular sd dana 60 housings, very close but in 2 sets I've never had to clearance anything (may fit other years but I have never tried it)
