Genesis G80?

If german....look at 2009 to 2011 Benz s550...luxury sedan. Same size as crown vic but with more interior room due to longer wheelbase..very nice ride

I bought a 2010 from friends mom who passed...the 5.5 is 390 hp

They are cheap used..for a reason...but the 2006 to 2008 had plastic timing gears so stay away..and the 2012 up got the twin turbo..which is more HP but engine out to fix any leaks..

The 09 to 11 had very solid drivetrain with few issues..

The Volvo is a solid option. I had and ‘05 for a long time, before selling it to my FIL. It’s still going with 200k on the clock, with only minor issues (cv boot, motor mount, fuel pressure regulator, etc). Thing even still has the original clutch and front brakes.
I'm still driving our 04 in Florida as work beater.
Biggest issue is the AC compressor clutch gap making the AC intermittent.
Unfortunately it's the only one you can't get to from the fender well.

My daily driver is a 2015 Kia K900 V8, essentially your car’s sister.

I concur everything you said except the 30 mpg at 80mph claim, though.

My best tank was 26 mpg at 70 mph with tailwind. Usually pull approx 23-24 on highway.

Only thing I wish I did was to look harder for a K900 V8 with VIP package.

DannyK have you try look for a Genesis G90? As long as you can look past their wheels.

They’re essentially Hyundai’s Genesis Sedan V8 (not to be confused with Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe) and Kia’s K900 before Hyundai made Genesis a stand-alone luxury brand in 2015/2016.

Bonus if the G90 has V8 and with AWD:smokin:
2020 Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate in Marietta, GA

My K900’s 275/40R19 rear tires can barely hold with spirited driving.
The G90 is more money than I want to spend. Heck, the G80 is more than I want to spend too, LOL. I am a cheap bastard with carts/trucks.

Ever owned one? Build quality is actually outstanding and all the stupid little shit that breaks on your jap shit boxes doesnt on the Germans. There was a major quality shift in the late 2000's on the German cars and they are quite reliable now. Fast, luxurious, and reliable, hard to beat. I put gas in my Audi and it goes:flipoff2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

No. Just

No

“Jap shit boxes”

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just saw my first Genesis up close in a parking garage this weekend. As I walked by it I though " damn that looks sharp". Then I walked a lap around it and thought "WTF is a Genesis, I've never heard of that before ". I obviously didn't care enough to Google what it was, but now I know it's a fancy Hyundai. I'm mildly looking for a cruiser car that gets good mileage to replace my 24 y.o. Crown Vic. Not sure if a Genesis is in my price range or not.

Cousin just got a new one. Nice car, hauls ass. Comfy, I'm 6'5" and fit just fine. Normal B pillar issues.

I'm loving my Genesis 5.0, large, powerful V8, comfy, luxurious. fast and gets great mpg. Pic taken yesterday on a 500 mile trip, 30+ mpg @ 85 mph, flat ground, cruise control on in economy mode. This is my fourth Hyundai, been very happy with all of them.

The only thing I don't like is all the same instrument clusters in the fancy ones and the cheap ones, same for the controls, general interior finishes.
I'm snooty like that.
That cluster looks zactly like my '16 Kia Optima, and the '18 Kia Sorrento...

on the other hand,
fancy shit that's model specific is a fucking expensive nightmare after warranty.
sometimes using the commodity pieces is just swell.

especially for cheap bastards like us buying used luxury cars.

They do look similar however the genesis has better quality materials. Real wood not venier, no chrome plastic, high quality leather everything is high quality. The materials, fit and finish are excellent.

I've owned four Hyundai's and every one of them went beyond 200,000 miles with just simple maintenance. No expensive breakdowns, I've had zero issues with them.
And Hyundai's sold in America are made in Alabama and Georgia.

My 2013 was manufactrured in Alabama and our 2022 Hybrid is built in Korea.

I think the '100k mile throw away car' reputation is probably a hangover from when they first started importing cars to the US in the 80's. They have come a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way from those days.

According to Wiki, the largest combined auto manufacture facility in the world. They were dumping several billion into their USA plant (s) on state of the art everything and training and retaining a loyal qualifed workforce while GM and whored out Stellantis was static, beholden to their shareholders and their striking fucking union. Write that on their tombstone when the last plant in the USA is shuttered.

Did you get it?

Some of that is based on their craptastic 90's vehicles, rest is earned with engine-transmission issues newer models have had.

If I am spending that type of money Honda/Toyota all the way, for loaded models there is Acura/Lexus. Sure they have their problems too, they all do.
