Gearing opinions

I don’t know what to tell YotaAtieToo. Those are my Friends you see doing that. The last 3 years in a row someone has come to Farmington for the W.E.Rock comp crawl that’s coming up next month. Break a Toyota 3rd in an unlimited portal car. Then people start calling me and my brother and tagging us on FB to see if we can bail them out. Sorry dudes, years of having abandoned that half ass platform long ago and bailing people out, that stuff is all gone. Portal guys blowing up those bull shit little Toy 3rds still.

I'm not saying a Toyota 8" is good, but more that old D44s just suck :flipoff2:

14.5:1 axle gears?

Ya, I mean in a cone dodger, it might have advantages? The more gearing in the axles seems to help with chassis twist? Idk, just an offhand comment.

Maybe you could go to a Samurai case instead of a 300.

Maybe, might have to run it in the 1.4 high range

I'd think it'd be a detriment to getting enough wheel speed. Even cone dodgers have to bump stuff some.

Nah, whatever you add to axle gearing, just take away from tcase gearing. Pretty sure they're running 5.29x1.98 with 2.62 tcase. So they'd just need a 2:1 tcase for roughly the same crawl.
