Florida Peeps Okay?

TTT~
A friend from Panama City texted yesterday that he might have to evacuate the area because of Helene-

Not that I have or ever will but as the saying goes scrape that salt life and flogrown stickers off your car before you leave. Last hurricane to pass Orlando cost me one day at Disney. You bet your ass I was there 7 hours after the storm passed. In the park and it was spotless. I saw flooded lots near the turnpike and auction in Orlando and other flooding on the turnpike. I just kept going. 😂 I had spent too much money to not go.

Don't know WTF came through here last night, but pretty sure I got 3-4 inches at my house. ~15 miles north they were calling for 7+

No evacuation for me. It looks like it’s headed a little east of me. They say it will hit the coast as a 3 or 4. Micheal was a 5 and hit me direct, so I’m not expecting too much. I sure hope my new dock holds up. Of course, I just trailered my excavator down to that property to do some work. If it does do a lot of damage, I could make good money with it. I might put some boards on the windows today. I have “window plugs” already made up for most of my windows. PITA to put them up though.

Other than gasoline, I have never understood why people wait till the last minute to stock emergency supplies.
Some B.S. on the East coast about the longshoremen strike on Oct. 1st. Truckers will be out of a job..?

Better stock up now for the winter just in case-

Mom and I had stocked up enough for 6 months to a year, all lost in the fire. The 5th wheel just doesn't have the space for more than a month

I have to be in Port Charlotte again Sunday morning. Hope its just as calm then. Ill be working in a building right on the water but its inland a little ways from the gulf.

I wonder why those tornado-chasing idiots don't go hang out in hurricanes? You can see them coming days away, it seems...

I want to get some time in fishing on a cattle boat but with a hurricane going through it will probably screw everything up the whole time im there.

I know the last one they had down that way caused a bunch of flooding. Our location in North port was not near the beach and still had standing water in it.

We are in Tallahassee, not looking good here. Had been tracking very slightly west a few times today but it looks like it may have just turned to stay on course towards us. We’re supposed to be flying out tomorrow to visit my sister in Louisville but flight was cancelled this afternoon. Going to head up to Columbus and ride it out in the am.
