What's new

Florida Peeps Okay?

Better do a good job, I’m going to be there for work next week :flipoff2:
At the Hilton. They do a lot of conferences at this hotel. I built both patios one the are over the restaurant called the manor

The second the steak house called galley

Across the street I built a small trellis over anushka another trellis over burger fi the trellis over pura vida and the patio in front of tru foods.

Still no rain. Half the jalapenos are gone.

I see that too and it makes me laugh.

Uh, it's going to happen again sooner or later you stupid fucks so you might want to hold onto that....
Or folks like my brother, who's got a super nice Honda 7500 watt, electric start, badass generator who I've told a fuckton of times...

"Only use non-ethanol fuel. And once a month or so, run it for 10-15 minutes to let it stretch it's legs a bit. Once a year, run it with a load on it."

Every year when a winter storm is coming: "Generator won't start. Can you have a look at it?"

"Nope. Storm's coming. Got my own shit handle."

Raffing at his mad rockcrawling skillz, and stacking rocks to boot.
Yeahhh . . . that was pretty cringe when I watched it.

He's an entertainer with a motorsports theme, and rock crawling ain't one of his motorsports

Right arrow advances a YT vid by 5 seconds, recommend tap-tap-tapping through shit like that.

I stopped by the beach five minutes ago. This is the Atlantic. 😂

The last two pictures are one of my upcoming louvered roof systems.

Made it to St Pete.
It's windy and there's rain. They closed the Howard bridge when i was 4 miles from it. The gandy was sporty while crossing.

Tallahassee is looking scary.

Hoping the Floridians weather it well. Looks like southern Appalachia is going to see some biblical flooding.

Son's apartment at school is along the 8-10" and 10-15" line. He is back here now. But the apartment is along the river there. Here's hoping it doesn't hop over its banks too much (apartment is about 15' above the normal level of the river).

One of the weather guessers I was watching today was showing the “possible” flooding this thing is going to cause. Much of the south east is going to need a boat 😳

Found it-

We're solidly in the 6-8" range but we got hammered with heavy thunderstorms last night so a lot of the streams were already flood stage. My only concern is the bridge to my house. It's private so it'd be on me. But we've had some torrential downpours and water has been up to road level on it and it has never suffered any damage. Luckily, it's overbuilt as he'll because the previous owner had two chicken houses on the property so it's built for 18 wheeler traffic.

Lost power at 630. Running on generator power, which will be enough to run two small window shakers, refrigerators, freezer, a few lights and fans. It isn't enough to run our 2 hp well pump, so buckets to flush toilets. We have plenty of food and water and gas for a couple days.

My friend in Bradenton says a bit of rain and wind. She's going to take a nap. Lol

Holy Fuck!

My friend lives in Treasure Island.

The water is 3.5 feet deep and coming in through his windows.

He just messaged me that him and his girlfriend were firing up his jet skis and going to evacuate. I told him that is dumb as fuck and very dangerous.

He does not live on the water BTW

he sent me videos but I cannot get them to save.

More dangerous than being in a place three feet high and rising?

yes, he can pile his furniture up and get above the water in the home.

Much safer than driving jet skis across a flooded town

A kid not too long ago was pulled into a drainage pipe during a storm and killed, there is a lot more unknown and likely of getting hurt or killed leaving the home than riding it out.

So with a screen name of Gator and you’re running out of Florida.

Thanks for the encouragement, dickhead. FWIW, I never left for a storm pre kids, even Cat 4’s on track for our location. With 4 and 6 year old boys now, being “Billy bad ass” against Mother Nature isn’t much of a priority. Our oldest was saying “bye” to his toys as we left, and we haven’t tried to scare them. My wife was packing up the kids handprints and our wedding album to bring with us.

Video won’t load, but it’s much more impressive. These are from the tornadoes here in May, most of the pines around 24” and stacked 10’ high, I’m driving through it for ~ 5 minutes. You can have that.
