What's new

***Fail***

They all have a very satisfying click when you flip them that new switches don't.
I usually push on the switch and then move my finger down a little so that it snaps over center

no real justification, it just makes the snappy noise louder lol

you know
used to be pretty common to have 120vdc from a windcharger and glass batteries

maybe the snappy switches were from that era
because a snappy switch will break the arc a lot better than one that isn't snappy

You used to be able to buy "loud" and "quiet" switches. Haven't looked to see if they are still available like that or not.

You say mercury switches I see this.

firetruck is more of a win in my book. Didnt hit anything.

Our company (an engine and a tillered aerial) was coming back from a run at 1700 hours on a Friday on Northside Drive in Atlanta. Heavy traffic.

We were on the engine in front of the truck, so we didn't see it happened. When the truck was approaching an intersection, he locked the brakes on wet pavement. The truck jack knifed and did a 180 across 4-6 lanes of traffic and came to a stop next to the curb. They did not so much as scratch anything.

Jerry was tillering and KC was driving. Jerry said he heard KC say (through the radio) "Hold on Jerry.", and the next thing he knew they were parked at the curb facing the opposite direction.

Truck 16 for reference:
