Downeast 3D custom 3D printed and laser etched products!

I think engraved would be perfect I might be able to fill the letters with epoxy or something, I are not super crafty.

As this is a portable speaker box I think acrylic might not take the abuse that laminated wood might?
Well, acrylic would be prone to scratches probably, but then so would the thin wood. Strength wise as far as breakage I would say the nod goes to acrylic. I think I even have a sheet of red on the shelf but I’d have to double check that. Would look pretty sharp though it depends on what color your finished box is going to be. Charcoal grey carpet? White acrylic would probably pop well. Cut the lettering out so the carpet shows thru from behind the shield for the contrast. Red would still look good but would be more subtle as it’s translucent.

as for filling with epoxy, I’ve messed with that a bit and you won’t get a deep enough engrave on 3mm sheet to really offer enough depth. Though again I could cut it out of some 1/8” plywood then off attached firmly to the box you could fill the lettering in with epoxy that way.

My idea with the wood was to glue it 100% to the wood of the box then just roll it with the protective coating. If I think I can I could just sand off the raised part like you would a valve cover or something, or just leave it and it will be embossed in there.

Gotcha. Let me see what I can do with the image you attached. Or if you have a raw SVG, PNG or Jpeg version of it you could email me that would be even better. [email protected]

I only have that image, I lifted it from a AI logo generator...
Ok so I managed to convert it to an SVG so I could cut it. Came out pretty good. Issue of course is the lettering not being connected. The dots would have to be glued into place individually with this font. I can try and rework the lettering with a font where that won’t happen. Ran this as a test piece to give you an idea and a place to start from.

Shit man that's perfect. I can use transfer paper to align the cutouts or just skip them on the smaller letters.
Let me know how to pay for this stuff

cool. if that works I'll run it again on some thicker material. this one is about 7.5"s tall and 7"s wide. You want it to be about 9"s tall correct?

I take both PayPal and Venmo. should be able to ship this in a padded priority mail envelope which is $8 to ship. lets call it $15 for the actual piece so $23 total.
Venmo is Downeast 3D
Paypal is [email protected]

should have no trouble getting it cut tomorrow and shipped out tomorrow as well

9" wide at the max I think. Can you make two of each, 7" wide and 9" wide?
And the thicker is 1/8"?

I can do that. Just let me know how many and what sizes.
2x 7" wide
2x 9" wide should be good.

Can you make one of these too? (just the bottom card)
These are on business card samples. I attached the jpeg of the logo.

So I finished up the first long, detailed multicolor print with the Bambu X1 Carbon. This took me over an hour to “paint” in the slicer due to all the webbing and making sure I got every bit of it. Print itself was about 2.5 days with 1,962 filament changes over the course of the print. I still need to clean it up a little with some stringing, but overall I am damn impressed just how well this came out.

Time for some recent projects. First a small army of Iron Man head mini planters. These will have air plants placed in them and go on my table at Made in Downeast Maine. Printed in 3 colors on the X1C

Got any Deadpool art? Trying to come up with a gift for a buddy but not sure what
Absolutely! I’ve got several different Deadpool busts and some other files I’ve saved. I can do those 3D printed in color. I actually just ordered a second AMS u it for my X1C so I’ll be able to print in up to 8 colors by the end of next week.

or I can do a Deadpool slate coaster set, laser etched tile or canvas or a tumbler. Or a combination of the above.

Well I went ahead and picked up another patreon membership.

This time for Nikko Industries. This guy makes some amazing replica props, armor sets, helmets, weapons, and some other really cool stuff as well. With my subscription I have access to his entire catalog of files and the rights to print and sell them.

We are talking full iron man armor sets and helmets. Power rangers helmets, Mandalorian armor and helmet sets, prop replicas from Ghostbusters, Hellboy, Final Fantasy, Mobile Suit Gundam, etc.

So if anyone is looking for something really friggin cool, check out the stuff he's got on his site and let me know what I can make for you!

And I just finished the burn on this sign for a local to go out by the end of his driveway. Waiting to see if he wants it stained or left raw wood before I put a couple coats of polyurethane on it.
