15 Yr old Australian Shepard, back in the day he was a typical Aussie,active and hyper but today he's a better rug.

15 is a helluva good run for that kind of dog. I have a real soft spot for livestock working dogs, even when they are just pets. Their energy, drive, intelligence, and loyalty is unmatched at least in my experience

Best wishes to you and your buddy.

As a pup he was the typical Aussie, Busy Busy Busy, He was never a working dog, but we kept him busy, He also traveled with us everywhere and typically behaved better than most of the kids. If you see the pics posted later in the thread They are all indoors, Those were all later in life, He's become my wife's companion dog of sorts.

We have half jokingly call him the best last dog. He will probably be the last. He's survived eyes being poked, ears pulled, ridden like a pony, Tormented by the house cats. He's ridden in Boats, Been 100 on the water, rode in my half assed 4Runner, Flown in Golf cart with wings, He's had a pretty full life as far as a dog goes.

Sadly the days are counting down. the worst part is the vet says he's healthy, no ailments, but he cant control his bowels, and his hips and hind legs have a mind of there own. The house is covered in hardwood and if he's not on a rug or mat he can't get up.

Damn allergies kicking up. :frown::frown:

His name is Blue

Lost a friend last night. *Blue* 15 years 7 months.
He was an Australian Shepard we got as a runt at 8 weeks old.
He was a great companion and enjoyed being with the family, no matter what we did. When he was younger He went everywhere. In the summer he'd ride in the boat all day, and the winter it was in the desert riding in the truck. He was a trooper and up for anything we did as long as he was with us.
The wife works out of the house, and as he got older and more mature he became her buddy, He became an inside dog, and they fell into a rhythm , learning each others patterns. Being there for each other. The bond with her became very close over the last few years. It's been great to see them together.
Old age had caught up with him, his bright eyes showing age, the sharp contrast in his coat now shadowed with grey, his footing not as sure.

vaya con dios Blue.

RIP Blue.

It's tough to let go.
It's harder to hold on.
