So I put 35 spline drive slugs on my son’s rig when I built it. I can’t remember who made em. Macs comes to mind. Hell I can’t remember. Anyway, he recently changed beadlocks and we took off the two inch spacers off and sold em with the old wheels. This has made the aluminum caps held on with three small screws vulnerable. He snapped an inner shaft on our last trip. Well the 2 1/2” aluminum dust caps were pretty chewed up with rock rash. As in, several screws were chewed half off. I’m thinking a steel version would be a better option. Before taking these to a machine shop and asking them to duplicate em in steel. Does anybody know of an off the shelf solution? These aren’t like the ones on ford or chev 60’s where the screws bolt to the slug itself. The slug is external and rebrooched from 30 splines I think?
