This thread is to document my quest to build a 73-77 automatic column for my 78 with a 67-70 steering wheel. The wheel came in many years but obviously this isn’t about purism.

If anyone can identify the parts I’m missing or what interchanges/substitutes, I really need the help as this is built from scratch. Nothing to reference.

I’ve hoarded many of the parts necessary to kick start this dumb idea but am having some trouble tracking down or deciphering which parts I need in the 73-77 column and the components needed for the horn button.

Inventory:
Hybrid column:

33” shaft

27.5” long outer tube

2.25 od 2.11-2.14” ID .006” wall

Flanges don’t bolt up?

12&6 67-77

Just find 73-77 column✅ (28”)
4” OD 78/79 flange
