Dana 300 flip it, or cut and switch a D60

Can you actually fit a HP PS diff first? My buggy with a LP GM D60 and a 3rz is real close to hitting well everything with the front drive line at full stuff. Granted my drive train is low in the car but the front pinion runs next to the engine at full bump and it's a inline 4cyl. I'd be mocking drive train in the chassis before doing anything personally. Set it at what you want full bump to be and measure everything.

Swapping tube s on a D60 with slugs isn't a big deal.
sooo i stood in the garage this weekend and stared at all of it. I already have the engine, the trans, the ecobox-i setup for the d300, and a d300, and a rear girdle for the d300. All in that setup costs me less than $1k+ the eco. the 3.9 is cool and it's lends itself to a passenger drop, as the oil filter, powersteering, and coolant outlets are all on the drivers side. and the 904 has a trans pan that sticks out more on the drivers side. and sits pretty flush on the passenger side.

Also on the dana 60,I actually think i will have more link clearance by flipping the side the diff sits on based on the casting. the knuckles are symetrical so I can simply cut and flip this thing.
