Daily driver shitbox advice

I am not 100% sure if the factory setup will ultimately stay. The parts are already....sorta installed so may as well get it road worthy for now.
 
Came accross this. 1997, AWD. Kinda curious if the drivetrain would make for a decent AWD swap. Otherwise, I figure I may have to go Subie stuff.

Should have a 2l B series. 125hp.

Would likely have to fabricate A arms front/rear for the Civic. I want to do that anyway though.

The CRV is missing a trans, but it stupid cheap.

Yes they do. Same gen CRV into Civic is a really common way to get a lifted AWD Civic. Bonus points for manual.

I know it's possible and straightforward with both the 1st and 2nd gen CRV. IDK about the 3rd and beyond.
 
A manual trans on Ebay seems to be ~$800.

I haven't checked the local pull a part.

Put a B-series VTEC head on the B20 block for even moar power.
