What's new

Converting to hydro-boost; mod'ing pushrod/brake pedal connection & length

That just might end up happening.

I'll be ordering the HB on the 1st.
Since I don't own a tap-n-die set; I'll have a buddy (who owns a custom fab shop) cut and tap it.🤔
Even better if he has left and right hand sets, so he can counter thread it, adjust on the fly.

It's how I do them - use a coupling nut and two lock nuts.

I've been looking at/researching the '99 F-350 HB set up.

The pushrod hole lines up more with my Bronco vs the '97 ('99 on the left/'97 on the right):

Plus I like the simpler high pressure hoses on the '99:

The HP hose fittings all appear to the correct sizes.

Thoughts?

I think the bolt spacing for the master cylinder is different on the 99 and up. So you either need to swap master cylinders or modify the mounting holes with a file.

Never done it, just what I read about.

I am pretty sure the hoses are the same.

The retaining nut for the mounting plate isn’t to difficult to remove. I think I used 2” receiver stock as a socket on the 4 sided nut. From there you just modify as needed. It was straightforward to get a 99-03 style to fit in my 71’ Bronco. I spent more time adapting the metric fittings from the master cylinder.

I'm going to buy all new parts: HB/MC/hoses.

So whatever year HB I buy I'll get the same year MC too.
