What's new

Clarkson's Farm

Sounds like I'm going to have to watch this soon.... There hasn't been this many good reviews about a reality show on IBB since Tiger King came out.

Just finished up the series a few min ago. It was a great show, especially since fucking nothing good has come out for months

Just watch the number of episodes. It’s really good. It’s comical.
Watching Jeremy blend with the locals is hilarious. He clearly is clueless at farming. But all of the shenanigans and antics make for decent TV. It’s a must watch. Add to your list.

Got damn.

Every single element of what made top gear so good and genuine reverence for what he was doing.

Worth every minute.

Yeah I think he’s actually trying not just hamming it up for ratings. I love all the wtf from the .gov he does. I really hope he becomes a advocate for the less .gov.

The true star is Caleb. He is funny as hell ripping on Jeremy. I loved the tram line debacle.

Mr Clarkson is a true master of his craft.

I wonder if Jermey realized the irony when he was getting kicked in the dick about government regs and then how he used to bitch about how Trump was killing the environment by lightening up government regulations on the environment.

I love all the wtf from the .gov he does. I really hope he becomes a advocate for the less .gov.
Reminds me of the old joke:
Q: How do you make a moderate?
A: Mug a liberal

"You fucked up!"

Finished it up last night. I really think this series really shed some light to Jeremy. He worked his ass off all year for 400 pounds. He asked how do farmers do this? Kinda sobering

Wasnt even that. 144(£)

Im surprised he even made $ at all.

Idk what order it actually happend between the subsidies request and the year end total but it sure highlights how important that form filling was before he found out what he got in the end.

I've watched the first few episodes, I like it so far. I'll watch the rest of them sooner or later.

What I find interesting, is how much differently they farm than over here. It's no wonder it took so long to get the fields cultivated and drilled, they need implements that are wider than the tractor!! Lol

Too many hedgerows and gates.

I know, right!

He could've easily "showed them" by to import much bigger implements the "too big" Lamborghini can pull.

I was surprised at getting seed and fertilizer delivered in superbags instead of just going to the co-op. I've had to deal with superbags way more than I'd like to and that looked like an expensive and PITA way to do it to me.

Seed I get, fertilizer not so much. When you plant different varieties for different pieces of dirt a 40 unit box or 50 unit supersack is a pretty efficient way to do it if you have a way to handle it which he does

Yeah, I get that, but they make equipment that folds up for transport.

I've seen them loading trucks out of superbags at the co-op. Saving seed wheat for the next year use to be the norm, but I think the seed companies have but a stop to that.

The amount of .gov intervention is also surprising. Rules on what can be stored next to what, and a safety book?? I can only imagine what would happen if you told the farmers around here that they had to keep a log of every time someone got a cut or scrape. Farm houses would look like libraries! Sample entry: It rained last night but the wheat is ripe and we have to get it cut. Dad told me to go do a test cut and I got the combine stuck. Dad threw his pliers at me because I should have known better. When the pliers hit me, I fell down.

I think he's genuinely into farming. You can tell from some of the commentary he gives. Especially the sheep. "I did a thing!" is just him hamming for the camera but on more than one occasion he has said he really enjoys them and after he says it there's a long pause as he looks them over. You can tell he means it.

The rest of the gang seem to enjoy him as well. The shepherd, Caleb, the NSA president, Gerald, etc. Sure he's a big time TV star and the bank roller of the operation but I think they see he's involved. He's out late on the tractor, getting muddy, moving sheep, birthing sheep, watering, creating habitat, etc. He may not be doing it all himself but he's made an impression. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I just wish there were more episodes than eight.

Not sure why I skipped over this thread.

Clarkson is awesome. Video that always gets me:

I'll see if I can find this show somewhere.

Especially when he was genuinely upset when he had to haul the few off.

One of the funnier lines "what is twitter" "its where leftist go to spread leftist ideas to their leftist followers"

?

If you get to watch the show, you'll know what I mean.
naw, just when you mentioned understanding him, that's the first thing that came to mind.

What I'm getting at is that Gerald and Jeremy are 2 different people.Gerald is a local handyman that is somewhat difficult to understand.
