Chiner Plasma or Metal cutting Miter Saw

I was thinking the same thing after I reread your post and the post above about the 1.5" fence... my blade stand off is 3.25" from the backside LOL

I only use the back side when I am shaving a bit off the end of a sheet and need the stability of the wider side. I would have to measure it because I use it so infrequently.

Cut some stuff today. 1/2" plate and 12x6x.375 box tube.

I found out about them because we used the 7-1/4" tenryu blades at work they were a bit more expensive than the others last I checked.

Everybody is making them now, you can get Lenox blades at Lowes and Diablo at Home depot, Harbor freight is even making one. I have tried most of them but have not noticed a difference out of the box. I think the harbor freight one did not last long but it had a thinner blade profile? The diablo blades seem thicker than the rest.

It seems like everybody making dedicated metal saws wants a proprietary blade size 6-1/2, 8" etc. but just the standard HD77 7-1/4" saw is handy and I can still build a shed out of 2x4 lumber with it.
