Hmmmm maybe? I don't do carb tuning tho. I is idiot when it comes to carbsMS250 carb is an easy swap on those 170s, gives you a real adjustable carb.
Exactly what I was thinking. If you open up the exhaust you'll need the adjustable carb to compensate. A couple 3/8 holes under the deflector is all they need for a muffler mod.
Thanks, ordered.
YMMV but I've had aweful luck with amazon walbro/zama knockoffs. This work?

but it looks like I am gonna step up to a 462 I think 😂

May as well right? some of the trees we were bucking needed to be cut from both sides with a 462 and a 32 inch bar. I could always do a 500iThats always the right choice![]()

Yeah i have run both and liked the Tq of the 462 compared to the 500.. Now bark box or not? my buddy keeps telling me to get a 400 but i am not sure. I ran a 362 during the class and it worked super I got no complaints. Most of my experience with a saw was with the 036 but I know they are very different from the 362,I dont think you could go wrong with either one. I went 462 because you could still get a normal carb.
Congrats on not wanting a 362![]()
I can hand sharpen. I used to be a wildland firefighter so I have a pretty solid base from that it’s just been a while since I had a sawyer card. The echo is great and I’ll keep it just want a bigger saw for some of the bigger trees that come downThe 462 rips and lightweight. Ran it with 28", plenty power for 32"
Though as long Echo still works, could save money and keep using it.
They teach you hand sharpening? If you struggle, get 2 n 1. Otherwise Swedish roller will be useful(easy to pocket)
Yeah I have used a saw with one before it’s crazy loudBark boxes are loud as **** but they do have an approved spark arrestor which is tough to keep while opening up the exhaust at home.
Took a Usfs saw class a few weeks ago since I do a lot of organized trail work. My little echo did well but it looks like I am gonna step up to a 462 I think 😂
that is funnyBroke the recoil rope on my little saw. Time for a cleanup and tune up. It dumps bar oil, and is a bit hard to start first use of the day.
Let me know when and where to sign up for a class, my internet search doesn’t find much.I need to get my card renewed as well.
some Forests are stingy and do not like giving out anything other than a A sawyer card, which is kind of useless unless you have a B sawyer with you
Give me a C card and turn me loose![]()

I need it for organized trail work if I want to use a saw the county requires it as well for me to cut downed treesWhy do you need these cards? Just work stuff?
