There was an auction lot of 6 saws and two leaf blowers on purple wave that ended last week. All non-running and located down in Hutch. One was an 026 another was an 044. The rest were 290's and 311's.I reached out to a few local guys on FBMP that have ads wanting to buy saws needing work to see if they have a 046/460 they'd want to sell last week. Nobody had one. Last night one of them messages me that he bought some saws and he's got a 046 that he would sell, low compression. needs work he said but just got it and havent looked at it. he gets home 30 mins later and sends me a few pics. Saw is in much better shape that he let on at first and I think a fuel and impulse line, clean the carb and she will be a runner. Sent me a pic of the compression tester and it's showing 180#. He said I think the decomp button was in when I messed with it at first. Saw is in fairly good shape for being 30 yo. He's an hour away so it'll take a bit of planning to meet up with him. Price is more than I had in mind but there aren't many nice 0 series saws out there. Looks like they only made the 046 from '96-01 according to the Goog.
I figured go about $450 on the lot and spend the next few months getting them running and listed on FBMP. The winning bid was $1265 plus a 10% buyers premium. I guess I'm way off on the price of non-running saws.
