California Mountain Lion Attack On Humans

But if I was talking to kids about lions and going hiking, I'd recommend to wear a backpack that goes up over your neck or has hear that goes over your neck. Been more than 1 life saved from a bite to a bag instead of a neck.
We don't hike too much, just try to not look like prey when stopped

Teaching them the arms up trick is probably pointless though. I'm fairly certain that if a mountain lion had decided to attack you, you wouldn't see them first.

They’re here in Missouri also even though the conservation dept always denied it. Then things happened where they no longer could deny it.
ditto here, your neighbor to the west. I've seen 2 within ten miles of here. neat, i know right. both of those times I was an employee in a company truck. now im not and have a tool with me always. good luck big kitty

I saw a map on a snooze story a couple weeks ago of where mountain lions/cougars have populations.

It was missing a lot of states, including Michigan...although the DNR still claims there is no reproducing population here...despite people seeing them for well over 20 years. In both peninsulas.
