not a fan of the Weller. had it on saturday. 🤷

Weller?

What version did you try?

Huge difference between “reserve” and the 12yr or Full Proof
I believe it was the 12yr.

It's not bad. Definitely has a bite to it. Just not as drinkable to me as others.

Good score. It’s damn near impossible to find any of those around here.

Nice score! Shit I'm happy if stumble across the Reserve or a Buffalo Trace.

The secondary market has fucked it up for all of us.

Just finished a glass of Jamison Black Barrel. Decent stuff. Think I'll get another lol.

Funny thing is... if that was on the table next to a bottle of Makers, I'm drinking the Makers, because that's what my taste like best.

but I don't want to yuck your yum. If you are excited for it, I am very happy for you.

I can’t relax when it’s a haul like that.

Collecting the hard to find stuff is one of my hobbies/ passions.

Check your PMs
Collecting hard liquor? For what?!? To look at the bottles on a shelf?

Makers is good, I drink it.
Was a time that it was my go to but I started learning about bourbon and developed my taste buds a bit. Now I understand that there is lots of good stuff available.

Collecting the hard to find stuff is a hobby.

Blind tastings are fun, and you’d be surprised what you end up liking when you have no idea what the label says.

I dabble. Wanna trade something for my Russell's 13 yr? I tried a buddies and it wasn't for me.

I have one but I wouldn’t mind helping you out.

What are you interested in/ what do you like?

Hell, maybe we could turn this into an exchange thread.

Lots of stuff is regional and maybe we could all benefit from the idea?

im a Weller 107 fan. i feel its the best bang for your buck whiskey.

i think i had Stagg at a restaurant once, it was ok. I prefer EH Taylor Bottle in Bond single barrel.

I'm sure you didn't find that at the Goodrich liquor store, did you?
No.

They do typically have some good stuff but…..

That manager gets bottles in, looks at google, and sets prices at whatever the secondary market is saying.

I’ve tried to deal with them in the past but they won’t move any.
Haven’t even stopped by in over a year.

the market will correct that behavior.

Many years ago, we fished club tournaments on Livingston once or twice a year, so the Goodrich liquor store was a usual stop. Back then, the gas station/beer store was an old gas station from the '60 and the liquor store was a small separate building (state licensing requirements) across the gravel parking lot. It wasn't much.

All I know about bourbon is that this is what my boss is getting for his birthday this year. (I was given a lot of help for what to buy for him lol)

You guys are way more high profile than me. Larceny Small batch 92 (not sure I believe in the small batch thing for the price) is my go to.

If I'm feeling crazy, I dip my toes into the $60 a bottle range. I really like this one, but not for twice the price of the larceny.

But I probably have the palate of the average farm animal.

I like four roses. Have a couple of friends who are into bourbon collecting, so I get to try stuff I typically wouldn’t buy from time to time.
