What's new

Blue MJ

Would an Atlas help your transfer case issues? I assume you're heading towards the Ecobox/205 route. I'm just wondering if having the transfer case in a more normal location would give you room to move a seat down. Maybe somehow cut the floor out and tie your seats into a crossmember and the sliders.
I have the integrated ecobox and a 300, it’s the same length as the 231.
You fat or what? :flipoff2:
6’3” 220 ish… but the guy I got this from was probably 280ish and 5’10 and I was amazed he fit.

I had to kinda re learn how to get in. Although I also have boat sides, but I kinda get out like you would a buggy. Instead of sliding out like a regular truck, I grab the cage, somewhat stand up on the slider and get down from there.
I have to tuck my chin to my chest, arch my back like a cat, drag the back of my head across the A pillar, while doing a forward hip thrust to lift my ass over the seat. All while one legs on the ground and ones on the floor board.

What would help is a grab handle right above the rear view mirror.

of all the things… never imagined I’d be trouble shooting how I get in and out of a Jeep :lmao:

Sounds like you shouldn't have bought a single cab :flipoff2:

It would be cool to stretch the cab to use 2 door XJ doors though. Too bad Jeep didn't do that from the start.

Looks like it's been done.

Probably a lot of work for not much gain though.

A Dana 300 with a doubler is the same size as a 231?? I'm shocked.

Cut the roof.

Don’t quote me but I think a 231 is 16” long and the ecobox-I version with a 300 is like 17.5”

That could be a more extreme option eventually maybe.

don’t tempt me to squirrel and build something different :flipoff2:

Yeah, I’ve thought about that. But like you said, way more effort than it’s worth.

Walk through cab is easy and still pretty warm if you bundle up a bit. Plan to add soft sides to mine some day.

finally had a mostly free weekend, spent some time making some things a little less sketchy.

Steering column had come loose from the tilt bracket, wasted money buying a new column thinking I’d be lazy and just swap it in. But it was gummed up and questionable too. Wound up just biting the bullet and just fixing the one that was in the truck and got lucky that only one had fallen out so the plate was still being held loosely. Was able to get to 3 of the 4 out and slap some lock tite on so hopefully it holds.

This was the one I bought before I gave up after diving into it.

Got it where I felt okayish trying to drive it down 30 miles to Hollister and see how it does.

Drives about how it looks. Floaty and kinda darty. Transmission wines really bad at speed if you give it any throttle.

40s don’t fit full stuff, my 38s don’t measure that might smaller so probably be reworking some fender and bumper.

These tires suck, but I didn’t mess with air so maybe they were just over inflated.

Made it back in one piece though. Have a handful of new things to address.

:homer::laughing:

They look like they're at 35 psi in the pics, most tires suck at street pressure :flipoff2:

Valve stems might have been jacked, and/or my gauges might have been faulty. 3/4 we’re reading about 10psi and one was 8. When I went to air up, couldn’t get air into one so gave up. But agreed, they aren’t deflecting at all. Weird.

Just checked with another gauge… 15psi. Agreed it looks more like 35 though.
